Couldn't agree more. Just told Cabela's last week that Bass Pro was the worst thing that could have happened to them short of permanently closing their doors.

I like the Sportsmans Warehouse in Ft Wayne. They had a good selection of reloading supplies before the damndemic. Hopefully they will come back strong when this mess is over.
Wow to see Biden was responsible in part for the merger to be called off too.

Good at least they can't destroy Sportsmans like they did Cabelas Cabelas Was a go to store for me I spent a lot of money over the years with them maybe a bit more money on some items but always good service good selection good return policy Now I don’t spend more than 50 bucks a year with them Bass Pro has ruined them in my opinion

Great! If Sportsman Warehouse is as good as people say, I will gladly drive to Greenwood to shop.

Guess I must be in the minority. Always preferred bass pro over cabelas. Will definitely try out the new sportsman’s warehouse in Greenwood.

I used to love stopping at bowling green cabelas on the way to Tennessee. It was an opportunity to check out a few sitka pieces in person that I was unsure about.
Last time we went the only hunting clothes they had were basspro/redhead branded.

I always felt Cabelas had better clothes and gear and a better selection of them I probably paid more than I could of at another store but getting a new Cabelas catalog was like Christmas morning but at that time you got everything by catalog didn’t have the net to check prices or shop and really you only had those two or a local store and a lot of them didn’t really carry a lot of gear. I remember when when you could sign up with Cabelas to get a special catalog just for fishing or hunting or what ever interested you

If I'm going for fishing stuff, I think BassPro does a great job with their selection of those items.
For hunting, I've never liked BassPro's clothing line and much preferred Cabela's (pre-merger) clothing and their bargain cave.
For archery equipment, I thought both stores were comparable (pre-merger).
As for firearms and accessories (optics/scope rings, mounts, riflescopes, etc), I thought Cabela's (pre-merger) did a better job with those lines and they took in used guns. I was told by a BassPro manager a year or so ago that BassPro was going to start taking in used guns, but I've yet to see it happen.
I also liked Cabela's (pre-merger) line of tree stands and blinds better than BassPro.
All in all, every time I walk into the BassPro in Clarksville, I think of what it could be if they would keep their fishing section as is and let the buyers from Cabela's (if they are any still around) take care of the rest.

I always felt that Cabela's brand clothing was FAR superior to Red Head. Cabela's/BPS is nothing more than a venture for a big holding company now. I hate that, but I don't have many options around here.

Swung by Sportsman’s Warehouse last night. I’m liking what I see! Guns on open racks that you can actually pick up and shoulder or handle. Good bit of ammo! And a fly fishing aisle that was well stocked!
