Evolution of a big paycheck! Follow the money. Say whatever it takes to get rich.
It works for some.
I run my mouth all the time, but all it ever gets me is a mouthful of foot. HA

From Dr Deer James Krull We have heard from many of you about the inactivity of deer, particularly in the MidWest. At our research facility here in eastern Texas, we normally see our rut over by now; however, for the first time in 38 years, our rut is 21 days later! We just now are seeing breeding activity. Unfortunately, we predicted this earlier in the year. Whitetails prime on the October Hunters Moon, which this year occurred late— 20 October. The next full moon (Beaver) was 19 November; again late. So, we predicted the MidWestern rut would occur 3-5 days after this moon. Beginning yesterday, our deer are actively chasing, and we are getting reports from all over about rutting deer! The roads are covered in dead bucks. The good news is that next year, once again the rut will be more timely. I CALL BS. Mainly because SCIENCE tells us that amount of daylight is trigger for does to come into heat. (Not the MOON) and that does not change... I was once a big fan of Dr. Deer (James Kroll) but not so much these days as he is very commercialized and pushes products for his financial gain. Numerous sightings of deer being bred first week of November (Switz. Co.) and I witnessed lot's of seeking and chasing Nov. 2nd-11th when I killed my buck. End day Whitetail RUT is a marathon not a sprint with breeding going on over a 4 month long period , the PEAK has come and gone IMO and from my experience. I think Dr. James Kroll died a few years back so he is not pushing anything to make money right now.

I have Kroll's first book referred to as the "Whitetail hunters bible." Aka: A practical guide to producing and harvesting white-tailed deer. Published in 1990-91. Attended a 2 hour seminar featuring James in Indpls. 600 pages of Whitetail deer studies and observations. (I refer to and read sections all the time.) Back in days when it wasn't just about $$$$

I saw a very nice buck yesterday on the next ridge feeding. Rack outside his ears. Don Higgins says the last week Nov. and first few days Dec. is when alot of mature bucks let their guard down. Makes sense as peak breeding ends bucks are looking for the last few does to be bred. Here on out it is just a doe here and there coming into heat. Don is pretty opionated but very knowledgeable and I follow him regularly.
