I don’t know many details but please pray for a friend who fell out of a tree stand last night. If he was hunting his property it happened in NE Indiana. Prognosis is not good and a miracle is needed. Please pray ! Thanks!

Reminder: Wear your harness! "..was not wearing a full-body harness at the time of the fall"

My friend is not doing well. A big miracle is needed. I don’t know exactly what happened but he was hanging in his harness when he was found last night. Not sure if he was knocked unconscious when he fell and suffered suspension trauma or what.
Wear a harness guys and wear it properly and don’t throw away the suspension relief straps that come with your harness. Know how to use it and have a knife accessible.
This guy is a very experienced hunter. Obviously something went wrong with a piece of gear. Sounds like he did his part.
I’m heartbroken for his family. He’s got two girls the same ages as mine. I got a phone call from one of my daughters after she found out just to say I love you. My wife was almost in tears when she told me the news. She told me thank you for being safe when you hunt.
Accidents happen but there are some basic things we can do to keep being there for those that love us.
Thanks for the prayers! Keep them coming!

Guessing that news story isn’t the friend being talked about in this thread. Correct- different person. Sorry to hear. I pulled the quote from the article. Great advice on knowing how to use your equipment. I admit I don't wear a harness when sitting on a double ladder and sometimes a single ladder. Mostly with my climber or a hangon. I also admit I have only thought through in theory how I would relieve the tension or get down in a fall scenario. Definitely a wake-up call. Prayers for your buddy and his family.

Main reason next stands will be ladder stands. Per data the safest and with full harness lifeline system should lower the odds greatly. Prayers

I know I definitely learned my lesson the hard way on harnesses and lifelines. It's been a costly endeavor with medical bills that just keep rolling in.
The burdens put on my family, friends and workplace could have been avoided. The financial stress and physical pain didn't have to happen.
I always thought I was safe enough. But, I couldn't predict the ratchet failure.
I thank God daily that I am not any worse than I am. It's only by His good Grace I did not sustain the types of injuries that we heard of on the other three casualties this season.
Continued prayers for both of the individuals in this thread as well as the one from a week or so ago.
Hunt safe people.

I’m extremely saddened to say my friend is completely brain dead and his wife is going through with having his organs donated. He was 51 and healthy and had everything going for him. I don’t understand why these things happens. Can only hope and pray something good comes from it. My BIL was his life long friend. Please remember him as well when you think of and pray for this family. Thanks for caring. Be safe. Someone loves you and needs you.

That is so sad.
No, we will never fully understand it.
My prayers for God’s peace and comfort for the family and friends.
He will live on in others by providing life saving transplants and always in the memories of the family and friends.

So sorry to hear this outcome. I'm glad he'll be able to continue giving to others as an organ donor. Prayers for peace and comfort for his family and friends.
