This morning, before I went to cut firewood, I went to get breakfast at Burger King. It was a little before 7:00. The young lady (early 20s) took my order, I ordered biscuits and gravy. She said "we don't have gravy today, I am here by MYSELF". I said WHAT!?!? She said nobody else showed up and the manager didn't want to come in early! I told her I would take whatever she already had made up and thanked her for giving an effort. I offered to stay around until someone else came in (this is right off the interstate weirdos are common). She thanked me and said she was fine. I'm telling you,if that were one of my daughters, I would be calling corporate IMMEDIATELY! We as a country are in a heck of a shape.

Why work (even at $15 an hour doing fast food) when people are living high on those Biden Bucks.
I can't remember a time seeing so many help wanted signs. My last two trips into the local Walmart, they (employees) were complaining about mandatory overtime and the lack of breaks due to so many people not showing up to work.
We, as a nation, are in rough shape.

Where do I find these Biden Bucks? I want to take a turn. Oh yeah, I guess it's not handed out to honest, hard working, give a crap workers that have to make the world go round.🤬

^^ That is correct. You know how to work the system, look at your co-workers, they have it down pat. Maybe ask them for lessons?

The bad news I heard there is going to be some major food shortages. Farmers can't get parts to fix their equipment. It seems there is going to be some tough roads to travel soon. Hopefully, all of us get to fill the freezer. I was planning 1 deer, but 2 now and maybe 3.

Semi truck parts shortages are getting worse and worse. Sometimes trucks are held up for a week or more. Sometimes the companies are deciding to run their vehicles either inefficiently, unsafely, or not at all.
New truck orders are up to 2 years behind according to what we are hearing.
I work for a truck rental, leasing, and service company. Right now at my facility, we have every single unit rented out on the road. I have other local rental and leasing companies calling even at night looking for units. I have said "no" and "sorry" so many times recently, its nuts. Normally we can have a unit transferred from another location, but most (in Michigan) are completely out as well. On one hand it's great, meaning our revenue stream is flowing, but sad having to continually turn down long standing customers and everyone else.
Really gonna be something to see how all this unfolds.

Keep up the good fight Jay. Good to work, do your job, make an honest living. After life and family needs are met, try and help stimulate the economy. That is, if there's anything left to buy.

I’ve worked for a aluminum casting company for the last 20 years , we make parts for all the major automotive companies. It wasn’t long ago we could have a job fair and have hundreds of people lined up, now only just a few. We now have a skeleton crew that works 12 hours a day seven days a week and have been doing so for at least five years. This didn’t happen overnight and it’s really going to get worse before it gets better.

I figured truckers were having to run them longer than normal and having more failures?

The good news is, all of these shortages and supply chain issues represent opportunities for individuals and companies to step up and provide services to fill the needs. Lot's of money to be made by companies or individuals that have their act together and can keep producing and delivering.
Hopefully this will result in more things being made in America at some point.

I recently decided to switch part time jobs so I could be closer to my girlfriend and have more time with her since we live an hour and 40 minutes apart. It took me 2 stops to find a new job. I told them I've been at my full time job for 18 years and was looking for a few days a week on the side. They asked when could I start. Places are desperate for workers who will actually show up.

I stopped to grab a quick, on the road lunch today at a Mickey D’s near Peoria, Illinois. I told the kid to hold the onions. He replied no problem. And then he said, “ I apologize sir but we are running out of pickles and I have to let you know that my manager said we need to ration them to one pickle per burger!“ Strange days indeed!

Nightly news just showed all the ships waiting off the coast. Most having to wait weeks to get off loaded. Not enough workers

I saw a online news blurb that 17 year olds in high school are signing up to learn how to drive a big rig. This was in Ca.

It may be the same thing there, they may be preparing to drive once they graduate and turn 18.
