Great idea. I can get pallets. Another project after season. I'll use cedar branches to conceal even more.
I have one spot where there is an old coil of barb wire fence left decades ago. Before 23 years ago. Bards are rusted off and we have a chair inside. I'll see if I can remember to take a picture. My brother and I only walk that area once a year in late winter or hunt it at the very end of season. It's where the big bucks bed. My one stand is about 100 yards west of that bed area on the same ridge line. That's the one I moved 2 years ago where I've seen three times big bucks walking that ridge line.

Good idea, only thing missing is the 12" x 12" square of hunter orange on all sides, that the law demands!

I had one that I made out of 4 sections of wooden privacey fence. Fence was free and I just screwed it together at the corners. I trimmed the boards for shooting holes

I built one early this spring out of pallets. Got it on the edge of a big bean field. Killed 4 turkeys out of it this spring (not all me 😉, I got one my two kids each got one and a bud got one) It’s a great spot even for deer. Would use it for a late evening and rainy day hunt.

I have been thinking about how to build a blind from pallets, this is exactly what I had in mind, thanks for sharing

Here is the pile I get to pick from. Sometimes a smaller pile, but most time bigger. I think about a dozen pallets will be removed this fall and set up late winter after season.

Anyone made one of these? Can buy the totes fairly cheap. Im worried they wouldnt be big enough for me, also concerned with noise issues.

Does not really have anything to do with being bear proof, just looks like a cheap way of making a waterproof hunting blind. You can usually find water totes anywhere from free to $80 each.

They are probably big enough for one guy, 4'x4', but gotta be noisy when cold. Cool idea, good to see ingenuity.

Why not just build a ground blind out of natural materials laying around, logs, sticks, weeds, brush, etc. You're kind of dragging a bunch of junk full of nails to the woods by using pallets.

We are just putting the wood and metal all natural pallet materials back to the woods and land! I know a smart-ass, but had to.

Hmm, more I look at it, the more I think about other variations that would be possible using stuff like PVC pipe and camo netting, maybe some plastic sheeting to provide wind/rain protection, and possibly using the pallet as a platform to position the blind more than four feet off the ground to free it from the orange requirement in gun season and provide better field of view. Might be able to come up with a version that would be more portable and lighter to carry our and bring in next year in late summer in a collapsed form. Maybe if it's obviously made of cheap stuff and wired in place firmly, the thieves that always seem to find them wouldn't bother to steal it if they could just make their own version more easily than unwire it and carry it out.

The only problem I had with pallets was trying to use them again the following season and they were so full of wasp nests that you could hardly get close to them.

Keep those wheels turning! Speaking of turning, maybe a little more permanent flooring in it and add some game cart wheels to make it portable?
