I'd love to see the same judge preside over a suit against a major automaker who's vehicle was used to drive into a crowd where a number of people were killed or injured. The plaintiff's attorney could use the judges own ruling against the gun mfg. as precedent.

Not good any way you look at it. I'm sure S&W will appeal.

I was under the impression that gun mfg's., like automakers had protection via a federal law against such lawsuits.

I was under the impression that gun mfg's., like automakers had protection via a federal law against such lawsuits. They do, but much like multiple state laws against guns, they don't care. They are intentionally violating the law to continue to push their agenda. It's things like this that makes me find the sanctions on the former Trump lawyers laughable. If every lawyer that "made fantastical claims" was punished we wouldn't have much of a lawyer network.

What's good for the goose is good for the gander is what I heard. Who needs to start sanctions against that attorney for the lawsuit?

We need reform that sets out specific monetary penalties ( in addition to paying the defendant's fees ) for lawsuits that meet obvious criterion for frivolousness. some of these lawsuits should not even be allowed to move forward.
