They (S&W) shut the TC factory down when they bought TC several years ago. All of the manufacturing was shifted to S&W's plant.
I guess what is for sale is the brand, and the patents on the products they sell. I do wonder if the patents have expired on the single shot products as they've been around for years.

Hopefully it gets picked up by someone who cares about them

I've always felt the Thompson Center guns were just run of the mill, average stuff with one heck of a strong marketing push behind them. In reality, they aren't much superior to a basic Single shot H&R shotgun, but they had every deer hunter that watched TV believing they had to have a TC.

During that same time period, Nikon sponsored a lot of those shows too. As a matter of fact, I remember Nikon producing Omega scopes that were a tie-in product for the TC Omega muzzleloader. You can say what you want about Gregg Ritz, but he helped TC and Nikon move a lot of inventory.

Wouldn’t sell my TC Endeavor for anything. That muzzleloader has dropped a bunch of deer. Both tc compasses I purchased for under 200 bucks and they shoot awesome.

I would take a T/C muzzleloader over anything else made up to this day with the exception of smokeless muzzleloaders. The Omega was their pinnacle muzzy and the Triumph was pretty good, but they went downhill when they took over the Knight Vision as their Strike muzzleloader and they didn't really recover after that. As for their Venture bolt action, it will hang with any other mass-produced bolt action. I will admit that I was never a huge fan of the over-priced Encore single shot, but it did provide the option of switching barrels easily if that was something that someone was looking for.

My Contender is much more accurate than either of the H&R single-shots I own, and it will never be sold. My Compass (.30-06) is a tack driver, and the Venture (.243) is more accurate than I am.
I sincerely hope T/C gets picked up by a reputable company who intends to continue the product line.

I love my TC's. I am an Encore guy and they will never be sold as long as I am kicking. I have only had 3 barrels out of 30+ that I couldnt get shooting good. Super simple, consistent, comfortable, quality made. I only got into them because the hpr caliber pistols were the best long range option we had for years. Then it blossomed from there.
