I took a little peek into the fields where I do most of my hunting yesterday. I just wanted to see the closed off field behind the woods. As I walked down the sand trail, looking for turkey sign, I found an arrowhead. It looked as if it had just been dropped there. I think the wind was pushing the sand away from its edges. I was very surprised at how sharp it still is.

Shooting a flintlock I have often nicked a finger on the sharp edges and flakes. The flakes seem especially sharp.

The last hunter to hold that projectile point did so probably a 1000 years ago.

Nice find. The wife and I would walk the fields and find them. We have a couple hundred. I can't post pics or I would show a few.

The last hunter to hold that projectile point did so probably a 1000 years ago. Probably much longer than that. That looks like an earlier style of point.

We used to find a good number of them when I lived down there, I couldn't help but think there must have been a heavy population of natives if we were finding all those arrowheads. Logansport area was always a good place to find them were the wabash and eel river came together.

Not unusual to run across burial grounds up here in the middle of nowhere.

I have heard that some people can even tell the tribe by looking at them? I have no expertise in this matter.

The were easier to find when plowing was still being done back in the day. A fresh plow and rain storm made them easy to find.

That is when we found them my uncle had ground by the ST Mary’s river they say that a tribe lived around his area, I’d believe it to be true as this area has three main rivers coming into it and they had a fort at the head waters.
I ended up losing them in a move years back had probably 35 of them I’d say the box got tossed out with trash.

Found a lot of Indian artifacts at my brother in law’s farm. INDIANA university did a archaeological dig there in the 60s and unearthed a couple of skeletons.

I have no expertise in this matter. I checked my Story in Stone poster and this was the closest I could find to your point. B.P. means before present. The poster is from 1989. The location doesn't match but I think they are found in more than just those locations.

So, does B.P. mean it is 5,000-7,000 years old or 7,000-9,000 years old? Either way that is way beyond amazing.

Well, one type of thing but, I found three of them. No clue what they are. I'll dig them out and post a pic.

I have no clue what these are. I found them all here on my 3 acres. They could be absolutely nothing. But, they all have a hole in the center and are fairly round.
