Let me preface this with, I have no intention of chasing down the problem to fix it, and I already ordered a new TV, but I'm just really confused by this.
62 inch LG plasma approximately 7 years old, wall mounted on a tilt mount. TV has intermittently shut off from over heating the past 2 years, but it was so rare that I never paid attention to the circumstances.
Watching the Super Bowl with antenna (I had to go buy the antenna that day, that's how rare it is for us to watch local channels), it shut off 8 times before half time. I eventually just quit watching.
Since then, no issues but we have only been streaming up until 2 days ago. My youngest wanted to watch Paw Patrol DVDs and every 30 minutes the TV would shut off. It would turn back on, presumably when it cooled off.
Since yesterday, we have been using strictly streaming with no issues.
The bluray player and roku are run through a receiver with HDMI cables and then a single HDMI from the receiver back to the TV. Antenna is direct to TV. When it happens with the bluray, the surround still works so the issue shouldn't be in the receiver.
As I mentioned, I already bought a new TV, but I'm really confused as to why it doesn't shut off with streaming as well.
Any ideas?

Power supply board of the TV is failing and causing this trouble is my guess!

My first thought was to check to see the if the cooling vents are open or clogged with dust.
