Maybe someone with knowledge answer this for me. Is there any push to legalize state wide or are things going to stay the same? I'm kicking around the idea of having Shaw build me a .350 but may hold off for a chance to have him do a .260 instead if chance of using state wide.

Haven't heard mention of any statewide HPR modification.

Haven't heard mention of any statewide HPR modification. What's your thoughts? It happen or stay. I mean the day after I pay for the .350 they'll absolutely change the rule just because that's my luck but you see anything happening? Maybe either a complete mod or area mod ie. south of 70 type thing?

My own personal opinion is that I don't see it changing unless a company does something like Winchester did and come up with a cartridge that fits within the existing parameters of what's legal now.
It's a good question to ask the powers that be, IMO.

With the safety track record that we have established, there is no reason not to open up all of Indiana to the HPR. Will it ever happen? Probably. Will it happen soon? Only after you buy a public-land compliant rifle. I had a buddy that invested in a 358 Hoosier and wanted to sell it the minute that we were allowed HPR on private property. I asked him why his rifle suddenly wouldn't kill deer anymore. He still sold it anyway. I have my .358 WSSM, still hunt with it; it still works fine.

Apparently the question is pertaining to public land? The hpr law is now permanently in effect for the entire state on private land.

span870, do you hunt mostly private or public ground? Mostly public but honestly don't deer hunt a whole lot. I have a savage .350 now just want to build something pretty to carry. Always wanted a .260. Mind you can't justify either, but I can talk myself into the .260 if I can carry state wide otherwise I'll have him build the .350. I don't reload so it would have to be a factory chambering

How long have we had full inclusion on private ground?
How long have we had wildcat rounds on public ground?
How long have we had centerfire rounds in pistols statewide?
How many accidental shootings have we had over all those times?
It's time to enter the petition to go full inclusion statewide.

Only downfall since you dont hand load is available factory ammo. Some out there, but not much or many choices. 350L is readily available, when this situation slows down. It's a solid 200yd cartridge.

This is something I started working on, but other priorities got in the way.

I'm a bit lost Are they talking about expanding HPRs? As soon as I push the start build button on my .350 order, yes the talk will start.
