Think how fast that went down! I don't know if you commented on Greg Miller's thread, but the guys in his post got theirs in like an hour or something!
They'll probably say they took too many and reduce next year's quota!
Frankly, I'm amazed that Wisconsin ever held a hunt in the first place. A lot of hunters, but a lot of blue politics too.

Regarding next years quota, I read that the target population level is around 300 and they are estimating to have well over 1,000.

A few years ago when Kate was in heat I had a coyote not 30 yds from the door of the house in the area where she pee'd. 9mm with laser ended that quickly. Barely cracked the screen door and bang.

Either way I'm going to assume they drop a whole lot of them down at once to chase a wolf. Same to assume it isn't 13" black creek beagles???😃😃😃

Have friends that use the same dogs for bear, coyote, bobcat. Thats why I usually ran alone while running bear in Wisconsin. They dont run anymore than what they use for coyotes. Trick is to find a single track going into a section so they are not sending the jump dog into a pack of wolves.

I never knew they ran wolves with dogs considering how wolves will kill them. I know the wolf population is way bigger than what they think. I know at least 1 farmer up there that called them because of wolves killing some cattle, and coming all the way to the barn. The DNR sent one of their hunters there and he never saw one, and the DNR said that it was coyotes. The farmer told the DNR where to send the hunter and they didn't. So he shot one and then called the DNR. They weren't very happy........ He told them either they did something about it or he would continue to do something about it and just not tell them.
That last statement happens a lot at least in the Northern part of the state. One grammar school had a 3' fence around the playground (Manitowish Waters). A number of years ago a wolf would come out of the woods, sit down at the edge of the clearing and watch the kids at recess. That went on for a week then the wolf never showed up again. You can guess why.
