Why is it that February has the least amount of days, but seems like the longest month on the calendar? No hunting (unless it's coyotes), tired of cold/snow, only fishing is through the ice, too cold for serious outdoor projects, and mushrooms are still 2 1/2 months away. Lets get on with it already....

What’s wrong with hard water fishing I look forward to it
As said you can still chase A few things if your lucky you could get enough snow to ride a snowmobile
Lots to do in the winter you just need to dress for it

Not much fun here in the south. We might get safe ice every 4-5 years. Last year our most significant snow accumulation was 1", and that was in November. We did have 3" two weeks ago and are supposed to get a good amount next week. We currently have a layer of slush capped with ice crust topped with a dusting of snow. Good for nothing. A snow mobile would be in the way more than used. Consistent freezing and thawing makes the ground sloppy. I usually fish at least a couple of times, but not so far this year.
It's a good month to make deer salami and homebrew. I'll restring all of my reels and figure out something that "needs" to be added to my boat.

The old saying goes "As the days grow longer, the cold grows stronger". Certainly seems to be ringing true here, my wife said that we are supposed to get another 8 inches next week. Of course this is preliminary though, I've never had a job to where you could be right 50% of the time and still be employed.

I'm enjoying the snow. I'm able to stay on top of the snow blowing so far. My dogs absolutely love it! I have made them some trails in the fenced in portion and I have a hard time getting them to come inside.
I too have heard we have a big snow coming next week. As far as weather forecasting goes, that's still a long ways off before I can get too worried about it. I wouldn't mind a couple more inches but, it sounds like they are predicting 8"-12".
February is definitely my least favorite month. March isn't much funner.

I’ve been watching next weeks forecast pretty closely for a bit now just because I like to see how much the snow amounts change from day to day. It’s fluctuated between 8-14” so far for Sunday through Thursday. We shall see what it actually is when the time comes.

Feb, March, only months I have to cut wood. I prefer to be a cold weather cutter too, but the constant wind the last few days has convinced me to wait until it warms up a bit. Where you are, I'd gave up cutting this time of year a long time ago.

Work on my boat is all I am doing. Need to cut wood and frozen ground is when I should be doing that....meh maybe tomorrow.
Rabbits, yotes, snow geese, fishing, is all possible.
Caught my biggest small mouth in Feb about 25 to 30 yrs ago and then went back with my dad and hammered a huge stringer of fat crappie.
Caught a 5# channel cat last weekend

I can still see grass in many areas of yard here but that may change next week!

We got hit with about 6” earlier this week and there’s still that much on the ground as the previous snows never had time to melt. I haven’t saw our grass in quite a while.

We got around 12-15" on the ground in LaPorte county, up in the NW corner. Its hammering with snow right now. Some drifts in our yard are about waist deep tho. I only went in above my knees to check, but gave up as I realized it was a road to nowhere. Lol
