What's everyone doing for the cold weather coming in?
I don't really do a whole lot. A few years back I boxed in my water supply under the house and insulated it. Added a heat lamp to help keep it warm. But still, on nights when we have subzero temps, I'll leave on faucet on with a tiny stream. I'll be sure to have a clear path in the snow from my woodshed to the house as well.

I'm going to put a cover over our outside faucet. It's supposed to be freeze proof. I might throw something over our water shut off pit too. Besides that, I brought in supplies to do some leather work and fletch 15 arrows. That should keep my my hands and mind occupied for a while.

We have hay bails by the yard hydrants. And a small heater in the well pit set at 32°.

I have yet to figure out how to plan for the weather around here. Just two days ago the forecast for Monday was near zero in the morning and high in the teens for the day. Now it's 22 in the morning and 45 for the high.
It must be John Kerry's private jet that is screwing things up.

I've got some electric heaters set out to supplement the gas furnace, otherwise we would probably burn through the remaining fuel in the tank pretty quickly.
We insulated the crawlspace and two attics in this 120+ old house this past summer. Still need to do one more attic and most exterior walls, and replace the windows. Hopefully that will be done before next winter.
The animals require a little more attention in the cold, but otherwise it's pretty much business as usual.

Mine goes down 7 ft and dont freeze at 30 below...as long as I dont use it until it warms up to above 0. Relay switch for pump used to be finicky in winter months, I routed my wood boiler line close to it and left a 2 ft section uninsulated, that is just enough to keep the switch from freezing up. Also ran our dryer vent down into the crawl space then out, installed a heat catcher in the line to blow into the crawl space.

This thread reminded me to go down in the basement and shut off the water line that runs out to garden. It's only buried about 18" deep. Got a couple big boxes of firewood on the back porch to keep the wood stove going.

What temps did you all end up with down there? -20 with -40 wind chill at 9am today here. All is well, wood boiler is pumping out the smoke. Heading back to work on property line shooting lanes in a bit.

The cold blast keeps getting pushed for my area. Now the worst is supposed to be next Saturday. As far as I am concerned, fishing season keeps getting pushed as well.
I've started taking a screen shot of the 10 day forecast every morning just to observe how much it changes by the day.

The charger that I like the best is made by a company called CTEK The 7002 is the model series that I would recommend Put it in the snowflake ❄️ Mode ... it never over charges www.amazon.com/dp/B000FRLO9Y/ref=tsm_1_tp_tc
