www.congress.gov/bill/117th-congress/house-bill/127/textAbout a 20 minute read. WOW! This proposed bill wastes my Blood Pressure meds. A lot of fees and jumping through hoops, reams of paperwork, several references required and a psychological exam to get a license to own a firearm. But wait there is more... An $800 insurance policy per year PAID TO THE ATTORNEY GENERAL. It is not pretty.

I don't see it happening. Of course, I didn't see Obama happening either, so...

So if i read that right you have to pay $800, have an insurance policy and be a 3 legged lepper with the affinity for eating small children to get a gun if this passes.
Does that about sum it up. Not going any further because the guy in charge of the sensor button in my head is about to disable the damn thing.

From what I have seen of this....this will essentially be the tool used to END the second amendment. It essentially turns firearms ownership into a privilege vs a right protected by the constitution. I don't see it passing, but with our wonderful leadership now...it's not so certain. If this was to ever get traction...I hope the law enforcement and military folks realize they will be the ones having to enforce this upon the american public....because no firearm owner is going to do this. Hitler did the same thing back in the day. First it was required registration in the name of public safety...then it became confiscation and then simply killing his political opponents and any minority group he chose. Don't think it can't happen again.

The part that really lost me was the database available to the public. That's a hard and fast no for me.

Some folks are quick to poo-poo the right's instant distrust of anyone that does not openly support the second amendment, rolling their eyes and saying "Nobody is after your guns!"
I'd like to see them explain this.

They are going to do it under the lie that we are all extremists etc. That is what all the ridiculous claims are about, and they are "so scared" (BS) has been leading up to. Just like the national guard dog and pony show was just leading up to gun control because we are so dangerous. Enforcement will be impossible, really a bad idea, but they are full of them. If you pay attention it is easy to see.

They intentionally kept security at a minimum just to do exactly what they did and are pushing to do after.

And just where is all those many hours of training and live fire supposed to take place? At government approved facilities by approved instructors on a 5 year backlog.

Everything has to happen in 3 months from when the bill is signed. You can put your guns in approved storage until you get your license.
Then in 4 years repeat.

We may see gun control, quite likely we will. However there is no way this will pass. Confiscation would be easier to implement than this train wreck.

I just look at all of this and figure that I will be a criminal and I don't worry.
