Uh, No thanks! I'll just keep what I've got!" So I just stopped at the Outdoorsman in Greenwood. I was looking for some archery accessories and figured I would stop by the gun counter on the way out. I asked if they had any word on future availability of Small Pistol Primers. Pretty much got laughed out of the store for asking such a stupid question! Guess I asked for that! Of course they have none and no idea when they will see them. I commented, "Oh well, I've got almost 1200 left so I guess I'll just load sparingly!" Overhearing me, a customer said, "I'll give you $200 for them!" And then the guy next to him says he'll give me $300 cash for 1,000! I stood there for a second pondering some smart retort. Couldn't come up with anything other than, "No Thanks Fellas." "I'll just keep what I've got!" Man, it's getting crazy!

You couldn't put a price on my little stash. It's priceless. Yeah, my stuff went into locked cabinets. Can see it more valuable than TV's and conventional robbery items in these times! Got gun safes, now need consumable safes!

About 3 weeks that is exactly what happened at a gun show that a buddy was at down in Texas. Except the price got to $450/1,000.......... That was for regular Large Rifle Primers. Same buddy ran across a guy that is bringing a bunch of stuff back from Montana where his grandfather lived. His grandfather was a long range shooter and has a BUNCH of reloading components. He bought 1,000 small rifle primers for $200 and the guy said to call him in 2 weeks when he gets back, he will be bringing back at least 90,000 primers, no idea on what else, although I do know that there's at least 1/2 dzn Dillon Presses. This buddy is also a customer of mine, so I might be making a trip to Texas to see how his pond is doing in the next few months.

So what are four bricks of CCI#400 primers worth in today's crazy market? Found out a couple of years ago while building up a decent supply of .223's that the 1000 pieces of once fired brass [9 cents to my door] so what I was processing needed primers and it seemed that 400's was the right primer. Hmmm, 450's gave a touch better accuracy in three .223's of mine so there lies the 400's "maybe" looking for a new home. All those cases needed powder, so what do I have laying around. Hmm, those 8lb. jugs of 2230C [all gone now] should work along with 2nd's of Nosler 55gr. slugs that were on sale give one inch groups when I do my part. My UPS guy had quite a few laughs for a while back when he pulled into my drive way.
Now, doesn't my two M1's and M1A need some food? All that pull down CMR100 powder [8 lb.jugs] which averaged about $14 bucks to my door, should do just fine, along with all the once fired'06 brass I had stocked up on and the 8rd enbloc clips I got for around 50 cents apiece, and topped those off with pull down bullets, 172gr., give me around 2 MOA groups. All those CCI#34 primers I got on to was icing on the cake. I'm out of 168gr. Sierra Match Kings, but have 175 MK's gathering dust until I figure out what to do with them. My Nikon scope on my Remy 700 in .308 needs 168's to put things on line. It's fun to hit pop cans out at my cousins farm at 484 yds, but not all the time, but once in awhile is worth all the work and $$$$$ that went into it.
A little experiencing ahead on what works for you, and then checking the Net for who's got it pays off in the long range.

Just dropped by Madison Outdoors and though they had some ammo, my impression was the reloading stuff was toast. Had one guy come in while my sale was processing and ask for primers, and he was disappointed.
