Honeatly, I'm surprised the cell phone cameras are legal when someone is in their stand with our current rules.
As for banning all cameras, are they going to back up all technology and if so to what point?

Back in the stone age when game cameras used film, I didn't think they offered an unfair advantage. With digital cameras, I was less of a fan, but you still had to physically check the cameras. Now with cameras that call your phone, I think we've crossed the "fair chase" line.
If it were up to me, I would ban the use of game cameras during the hunting seasons.
I'm sure that won't happen, but that's what I would do...

I was against them when they came out and dont own one. I feel they are a lazy way to scout when you dont have to physically retrieve the camera or card. We are beholden to money, though. Crossbows, rifles, etc. Crossbows may be a bonus now that we wont have ammo. Who knew?

Ammunition will likely always be available just a matter of what your willing to “pay”... almost to the point now but not completely!

I heard either Pope & Young or B&C won't allow entries in their books if you utilize cellular type trail cams in pursuit of the animal. Used correctly, cameras definitely do give you a significant advantage you would not have without them.
I use trail cams all the time (the SD card type) but it wouldn't hurt my feelings if they banned them during season.

I use SD style camera's for preseason and post season scouting and inventory mostly. I will run couple cams over scrapes during pre rut looking for signs of mature bucks daytime movement but that's about it. Personally I think the cell camera's give hunter's a unfair advantage pinpointing a deer's exact location in live time. I have no desire to use them and enjoy the hunt as much as I do the kill....

I have cell cams at my property in Perry county. I have 4 on the long road to monitor my home there. There is no cell signal so I check the cards weekly. I do have one cell cam that I use for trespassing at my vanderburgh county property. I see deer there occasionally but it’s pointed at the field where you enter. Never seen any deer I’ve harvested on camera and I like it that way. The two I have on food plots in Perry county are for seeing what’s in the area. Haven’t hunted there in 2 seasons. Do they give a hunter an advantage in patterning deer movement, absolutely, but as everyone on here knows you have to be lucky and hunt the wind, not always a easy thing to do. I’ve patterned more deer just sitting in a stand watching. Any deer I’ve killed in the last 3-4 years I’ve never seen before the time I harvested them. Just my 2 cents.

I don't agree with the cell cameras during hunting season. That's not hunting to me, but neither is baiting. Not going there.
I don't see a problem with normal SD card cameras. I've used them more for security and inventory than anything. Like a previous post, I've never shot a deer that I knew about from a picture.

Wouldn't hurt my feelings if they were outlawed.

I quit using them several years ago. Now liking the unknowns of what’s out there.
