Quick check on craigslist $150 per 2 inch live edge slab Or $6/bf for 1" rough cut lumber I'm talking about selling it in log form. I'm running out of storage room and I still have a spalted cherry I want to cut. There would be a lot of slabs from that big walnut.

I ask the people that sawed the log for the trailer Personally I say it worth $3-5k I believe you got around 800bf IMO

Unless you can haul It some were maybe nothing I have a high pressure gas line running through the front edge of my woods Our former president decided that all gas lines right of ways need cleaning even though I was not over it some of the tress were in the right away even though theses trees were there in 1957 when they put the pipe line in they had to be cut. Anyway I had 3 nice oaks and 5 hickory trees I could not find 1 logging company that would buy them unless I dropped them at off at the plant said was not enough money for them to come get them even though they were going to be laying on the ground

No clue just giving you an idea what local rough sawn walnut is selling. I tried finding price on popular as I have quite a few but best I could find is 2018 data. I am not serious so didn't work too hard at it

Depends on how it cuts and how much of a sap ring it has. Does not look veneer grade imo and will probably go lumber grade. Maybe a few hundred bucks if you can deliver it to a mill.

Walnut isn't the gold mine people think it is unless it's veneer grade. Even so, might not be worth it to the lumber companies. The only thing I would suggest doing is calling any lumber mills in the area and asking them. Also, might want to give the state forester a call that services your area and ask him.

This has been my experience also. I've logged our different woodlots several times and the average standing tree is just not worth that much. A $100 tree is a pretty decent tree and a $3-500 tree is exceptional. Many of the lower grade trees used as pallet material go for as low as $50 each. Most loggers can't justify their mobilization / demobilization costs unless they can cut several semi loads of timber. A local saw mill might pay a few bucks it you deliver it, just need to inquire.

Friend of mine had his fathers black oak cut down, probably around 26-28 in in diameter and around 18 feet to first limb. he had it cut and was offered around 5K for it. Can't remember how many board feet. This is after he had a large kitchen table and chairs made out of it. I'm wanting to say it was in the neighborhood of around $6/bf or so. pretty much inline with what I'm seeing on here.
