8:30 first morning of muzzleloader season. Not a giant, but I'm pleased with it. 44 cal. 240 grain xtp from my CVA Optima V2 dropped him where he stood. Thankfully, I was able to drive right up to where he lay.
Not a long shot; about 75 yards.

That's a really pretty buck. Congratulations. I don`t know that I`ve ever seen a prettier deer.

No doubt, he definitively is a chunker. What did he weigh? Any idea? By the time he was loaded he weighed about 750 lbs!! I really don't know. But the "S" hook that my gambrel hangs on straightened out as I was trying to hoist him. These corn fed deer sho' nuff have a good flavor!!
