Quick math says 260K +/- acres. Think I could get a Go Fund Me started?
By comparison, the King Ranch is 825K acres.

I realize these folks have no intention of doing so but imagine if they sold it to the state for public hunting opportunities? Put in on a lottery for x# of spots. Make it 10 bucks per entry or even 50 bucks per entry and only one entry per person so no Mr. Moneybags could stuff the box? That would be a cool thing in my mind.

Again I realize they have no intent to do this but I would imagine land acquisitions by states on properties of this nature are more philanthropic than comercial sale. In a sence the owner would "cut the state a deal" and likewise the state may give a tax break or something of that nature. I have no visions of any state paying that much for land.

It seems that the kids of the ranchers have no interest in ranching and their only interest is $$. There are a number of those large ranches in Texas for sale now.

Kind of funny, but this old farm boy can think in terms of acres at around 1,000 or so. But when we start talking 10K or 100K+ acres, I have to convert to square miles!

That wyoming ranch is that huge, they have a gorge through it. We stood at the top and watched wyoming national guard fly jets...below us
