Internally ignited caseless ammunition rifle.
Not a perversion, but certainly not in keeping with the idea of muzzleloading as a PITA (but fun because of it) way of hunting either.
I would be really interested in seeing the engineering behindthe ignition system though. There has been a lot of testing on artificially generated static discharge ignition, and it has been fairly well established that simple voltage-arcing won't set off BP. THere is simply not enough heat generated.
I'd like to know how they accomplish it with just a 9v battery.

What if it the switch shorts out while loading? Singed/broken fingers... unless you fail to follow 250years of "safe loading" practices and put body parts directly over the muzzle.

How well will the battery hold up in cold weather? Next you will have to have something to keep the battery warm.
I can hear it now "I had that ol' buck in my sights, but my battery was dead!

Hey, maybe if you hooked it up to a leyden jar it could still be considered "period" ignition....
