Post your deer hunting load. Please tell us powder, grains, bullet type, and primer. The time has come for me to settle on a deer load. I am going to start with the classic 250gr Hornady XTP, AA5744, and a Win primer.

Ive been shooting them since they first came out 5 years ago. The combo you have is one of the oldest and most accurate. The only thing i would change is use CCI 209M primer instead of the Winchester primer. Its more reliable in colder weather. Use 44 - 48 grns of powder and depending on how tight your bore is use MMP 12 or 24 sabot. Some are using the short Harvester sabots too. My personal load is Barnes 250 MZ with the supplied sabot, 46 grns of IMR 4759 and CCI 209M primer. I can switch bullets and use the 290 TMZ with the same load and my POI only changes 1" @ 100 yards.
Imr 4759 and AA 5744 are both very accurate but Imr 4759 is about 200 fps faster with the same grains. Either one is a great deer load. h.h.

My deer load for this year will be 43 grains of 4759, HPH12 sabot, 250 HXTP, CCI 209m. This load prints just under one inch a 100 yards.

you might try the light blue sabots available from Cabela's for the .475 cal. Barnes bullets. They are very accurate and weight in at .275 grains.
