This looks interesting .....
The Chair asked if someone is hunting with a bow after the firearm season if the hunter orange requirement would apply with the proposed change to 312 IAC 9-3-2 or is it only in the deer reduction zones.
Petercheff clarified that the hunter orange requirement would apply to all hunters after the firearms season begins until January 31 and that it does not matter if a hunter is in a deer reduction zone.
(s) An individual must wear hunter orange: (1) in a season set forth in section 4(b), 4(e), 4(f), and 4(h) of this rule; (2) in that portion of the archery season set forth in section 4(c) of this rule that overlaps a season set forth in section 4(b), 4(e), 4(f), and 4(h) of this rule; (3) when firearms are authorized under section 8(b) of this rule; (4) in that portion of the deer reduction season set forth in section 4(d) of this rule that overlaps a season and is in a location where hunting is authorized in section 4(b), 4(e), 4(f), and 4(h) when firearms are authorized under section 3(f) of this rule; and (5) in the special antlerless season in the locations where the season is authorized in section 4(h) of this rule.

Yeah, I read that. I read them all in fact. Lots of interest in the ruffed Grouse wasn’t there?

Yeah, I read that. I read them all in fact. Lots of interest in the ruffed Grouse wasn’t there? Surprisingly many favor the DNR proposal to list ruffed grouse as an state endangered species in Indiana. Most of the opposition comes from non-hunting tree huggers worried that DNR might try to increase logging in an attempt to bring back the grouse. That is not the intent.

Hatchetjack, what would it take for the DNR to take another look at a bobcat season?
