I see that some NBA teams are boycotting a playoff game to due the shooting of the criminal that was resisting arrest and evading police in WI. I hope they boycott themselves out of business. If the NBA ceases to exist, my life will not change one bit.

I've read that the guy had a knife too. And in the video I saw him pull away from the police and resist arrest and then go into his car. I don't know why they stopped him or anything else other than the policeman shot him from behind. The number of shots is irrelevant as the police are trained to shoot until the treat is neutralized. If the guy doing the shooting thought the the guy had a knife and was fearful of getting stabbed then he can legally shoot the guy. If the guy was a treat to other people if he got away then here in IN the police can shoot them in the back when in pursuit of the perp. An Evansville, IN EPD retired detective said so much on his facebook page.
Remember what happened to Michael Brown when he attacked a policeman in Ferguson. The policeman's gun was grabbed by Michael Brown when Michael Brown reached into the Police Car and grabbed the Policeman's gun and fired off a shot. The policeman finally got control of his gun and then Michael Brown too off running away. Shots were fired and Brown was told to stop. He stopped then bull rushed at the Policeman. The Policeman fired until he hit Brown in the head and Brown collapsed onto the street. He lay there for several hours. The riots started soon after this shooting. It does not pay to rob a store and then try to attack a policeman when he stops you for walking down the middle of the street.

I love sports, it’s my escape but I’m done. I can not accept this anymore, until people are willing to have an open mind there is no point in trying to fix the problem. All I see is a black man was shot by a police officer, no one wants to talk about what led to this action. It’s really simple, do exactly what you’re told and you won’t get shot!!!! If you feel like you have been wronged ,sue the hell out of whoever wronged you.

Nobody that is screaming about this being a bad shoot cares about the facts, they only care that "a black man was shot by the police in front of his kids". Those trying to explain the relevance of the facts don't care what color he is and his kids being in the car is just another reason to stop him.
For whatever reason, we have made it to a point where the only important aspect of any action is the skin color of the person shot.
As for the NBA, those boycotting players should be suspended for a year and the teams forfeit the game. BUT, that will never happen because of the sheer amount of money the league and owners have to lose.

It's a good thing that I prefer watching Ice Hockey. I'm watching the TB vs Boston game right now. Boston is getting the heck kicked out of them. Not many black hockey players to protest the shooting in the NHL. The link below discusses the two black hockey players that are blasting the NHL for continuing to play hockey as it's tournament time. I say if they don't like it they can go home and forfeit their pay. Disgusting. Now these black players are trying to tell the NHL to cancel their playoffs. I say BS to that. Why should the NHL shut down? I don't think that the NBA should shut down but if they want to stop playing and lose all the money it's up to them. But don't put down the NHL players for playing in their playoffs. That's their job and they didn't get to play in the playoffs last April due to things beyond their control. bleacherreport.com/articles/2906454-sharks-evander-kane-nhls-lack-of-action-on-racism-honestly-insulting?utm_source=cnn.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=editorial

Boycotts notwithstanding, I really don't care if the NBA, NFL or MLB ever plays another game. I wasn't watching much of it before recent events, and I likely won't watch much of it after...

I was done with the NBA when Bird retired, but then jumped back into it when Reggie Miller was drafted here. Can't tell you how much I enjoyed watching him play, but then was over the NBA again when Miller retired. They ruined the game. They allow carrying the ball, and too many steps, and ridiculous contact with no foul calls. Just not my kind of deal anymore.
I absolutely loved the NFL. I was a high school quarterback, and playing that game likely saved my life. I grew up in a rough area at the time, and in a tough family situation, and even as an 8th grader, putting on those pads gave me the involvement I needed, and taught me the discipline I needed. Then, watching the NFL, I loved guys like Bert Jones, John Elway, and ultimately, Peyton Manning. I knew when Peyton retired, it wasn't going to be the same anymore, much like when Mohammad Ali retired from boxing.
I used to really, really enjoy watching the NBA, NFL, and MLB, specifically the Cincinnati Reds, but at this point, NONE of them will be on my television ever again. Between them using their platform to facilitate their political and social agendas, and in the case of the NBA, their thug culture, I'm finished with them for good.
As for law enforcement, I've been as hard on them as anyone when I felt they were heavy handed, and they have been heavy handed in some instances. I've been as vocal as anyone in saying that it's unacceptable for the militarization of law enforcement. But the other side of the coin is, some of these people who have died recently, like the guy here in Indy who led police on a high-speed chase then, according to Police, shot at them, and most recently, this guy in Wisconsin, who ignored police orders, then reached into a vehicle to grab who knows what...c'mon, are you kidding me? Those instances need no explanation or discussion. Period.
Whether it's right or not, I hope the NBA, NFL, and MLB DO collapse and these poor oppressed multi-millionaires have to live in the real world with the rest of us.

I've never been a sports fan. I just don't get it. It's boring as all get out for me to just sit and watch somebody else do something.
Hunting shows, like the DIY stuff I see on YouTube are a little different because I may learn something that could increase my success.
It is incredible to me to see the type of athletic ability that some of these NBA guys have; however, it doesn't matter how many times I watch LeBron James dunk the ball, it's not going to help me dunk it one bit.
I do enjoy watching IU basketball, but that really feels like more of a cultural thing to me. And as soon as a game is over, I don't usually even think about it again until the next game starts.
I do understand I'm in the minority when I say I do not enjoy watching sports though.

Hunting shows and DIY shows are basically what I watch now. Except I'm hooked on the show "Alone" now.

No surprise but Biden and Obama are backing the "boycott".
Me? I could not care less if NBA, NFL MLB all went away.
Lots more to life that watching these grown men playing a kid's game and making millions while whining..

I finished with all major sports. Sticking to local grade and high school sports. Better played and will to play. Maybe some college, but still need to be careful the two teams and their position in life.

I finished with all major sports. Sticking to local grade and high school sports. Better played and will to play. Maybe some college, but still need to be careful the two teams and their position in life. I stopped following Pro Sports like Basketball and Football. I prefer college football and basketball. And I've felt this way long before 2020. I stopped watching Pro basketball more than 10 year ago. Half the people playing Pro Sports didn't finish college and if they didn't have the money they make in pro sports they would have to fall back on nothing. They didn't finish college as they dropped out of school to go for the money in pro sports. They have zero education to fall back on to get a good paying job. I follow the Purdue Boilermakers Football and Basketball teams. Carson Edwards was one of our best players who left early instead of staying to get his degree from a great university. He went to the Boston Celtics but either sat the bench or was sent down to the minor leagues. I think he could have stayed in school and waited a few years to go pro. I think he made a big mistake. What is going to happen to him if the NBA folds? Where will he be able to make as much money as he does now if the NBA folds. I have cable TV and channel 27, 28, and 29 are all sports stations. I skip though them this time of the year. The NHL games are all on channel 4 and Channel 74. I'm so glad that the NHL players are not boycotting the game. I just read the official police comments which said that the Black man that was shot in the back said that he had a knife. He was reaching into the floor board of his vehicle and the police could not see his hands. One thing that police say is "show me your hands". For when the police approach someone they want to make sure that you don't have any weapons in your hands If you want to get shot by the police when they approach you just hide your hands or dive into your car where they can't see what you are doing. That is the fastest way to get shot. Show me your hands does not mean run away and dive into your car. The reason is that if the perp grabs a knife they can turn around and stab the policeman and do great hard and damage to them. The policeman will not allow you to grab a weapon from your car. This is why the police get you to show them your hands so they don't feel threatened by an unseen weapon. The number of shots fired is IRRELELANT. The police are trained to keep shooting until the treat is down and out. There is a reason why Blake was shot. He became a threat to the police who were trying to arrest him. First off Blake was in a place where he was not allowed to be. His wife called the police to report that he was there and was not suppose to be in the home. When the police arrived they tried to arrest Blake but he resisted arrest. He ran from the police and a taser was deployed. Blake admitted that he had a knife with him. The police recovered a knife from the floorboard of Blakes vehicle. Blake was resisting arrest and going for his knife which is why he was shot. Blake is lucky to be alive. Anyone that protests this shooting is just totally against law and order. They are protesting against law and order and for a violent criminal.

What upsets me is that they want to rush out and make a big deal out of this, yet they don't have the facts OR choose to look past the facts. I saw where in one case a lase story was posted and folks started looting....and the story to "trigger it" wasn't even real! Tells you what they really support. As much as I like my MLB.....it wouldn't kill me to see professional sports die in this country! We need to put that money to better use in education and social services and our military and public servants!
