Major damage 6 miles south of me. Trees down, roofs blown off, grain bins blown down, a real mess. Whatever it was went straight down Riley rd. for about 6 miles.

We were without power for almost 30 hours.
We are the second to last house on IPL, south of Plainfield. I can't complain about IPL. In the almost 46 years I've been around, this is the 2nd longest we've been without power. I think we were without power for ~3 days after an ice storm in '88.
I just rented a lift at the end of July and took down 8 dead ash trees. I may have got that done just in time. My neighbor ~0.25 mi down the road had the big ol' tree that fell across road and tore down the power lines.
Lol - my wife was complaining about the inconvenience of not having running water. I told her there is a bailer in the garage and most of the rest of the world would consider the well 20 ft off the front porch extremely convenient. I also told her she could use my water purifier and get some water out of the creek. She didn't appreciate me telling her either one...women!

2nd that wow. 1/3 crops gone and all the buildings. Just think all the beekeepers and animal farmers. Sure most fences got destroyed and beehives blown over.

Maybe not. Those bees are one tough insect. I just found out last Friday they can handle 70-75 MPH. I rescued two hives last Friday night from North of Dayton, Ohio. Drove I-75 and and I-275 for little over an hour. When I left there was about 30 bees on the outside of the hive. When I got home they where still there. I was surprised. Don't know about 100+ mph.

I lost power for 16 hours, lost internet for 6 days..........
Only had 1/2" rain, not bad damage here, enough trees fell in strategic areas around me that whacked power and internet.
Saying that there were 3 large fiber optic cables cut in Iowa during the storm and some people there won't get power for another week......... The cut fiber cables cut internet to places in Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin and Indiana.
I was a customers place, left there just as the wind and rain hit knowing all too well that the first 2-3 miles of road were in the middle of a woods. I spent more time looking at the trees as I drove down the road than the road itself.....
He texted me a few hours later saying that there were trees down now on the roads that I drove on to leave, and he had a 16" dia Oak snapped about 15' off the ground. When I got home the power and internet/cable were off. I stayed in the truck for 1/2 hour until the rain slowed enough so I wouldn't get soaked getting into the house.
