I finally went through all of my pictures from my elk hunt last fall and made a slideshow video. I sure wish I was preparing for a hunt out there this fall.

Very cool. I've been twice but never had any luck. Was into elk for a day but had to leave that afternoon. Need to make it happen again soon!

Very pretty, great pictures.
Every hunt like that is special.
Elk meat or no, that's an experience you'll cherish forever.

Thanks for the pics, it's not about how big or spectacular the bone was, but the enjoyment of the great outdoors. Been there done that. An quaintness once told me on the way home from an out west hunt that it was too bad the hunt wasn't successful, and I replied that I didn't understand his statement and had to explain that I "got the hell out of Dodge" for a week or so and to stand on the top of a 13,000 ft. mountain and over looked some of the most beautiful scenery that one will never see in Indiana, so I believe my hunt was successful in my own way.

Thanks for sharing. Makes me think I should do another elk hunt. Have done one bow hunt and four rifle hunts, killed three avg size 6x6 bulls.

The day we climbed up that mountain and looked down on the world was worth the drive alone. I looked at the odds of success for archery in that zone. It was around 10% for archery. Using traditional gear and being new to elk hunting I cut that percentage in half. So I knew going into that hunt that the odds were definitely stacked against me. I didn't care. The trip inspired and motivated me to lose a bunch of weight. That trip changed my life and probably added years onto it. It has also impacted my wife. After seeing my pictures she is planning a trip for us to go in 2022. She has started exercising and has lost over 50 lbs. She wants to be in shape to explore the mountains. We won't be hunting, we will just enjoying the beauty of that land.
