I recently bought a new Knight with SS barrel. Do I have to use bore butter or other traditional ML lubes like I did with my old CVA or can I use the same cleaners, solvents, and lubes I use with my center fire rifles?

If you are using Black Powder or Pyrodex, then YES you need to clean your M/L just like your old one. Plenty of HOT water and soap to flush out the barrel, flush out the soapy water with fresh HOT water, let dry and apply your "Bore Butter" or oil. Besure to clean your breech plug also and besure to apply some anti-seeze Lub. to the threads on your breech plug.

There are some good commercial black powder cleaning products on the market also. It is not a whole lot easier than hot water and soap, but at least the wife does not frown about the condition of the sink and I do not have to spend time cleaning the sink after cleaning the gun. If you shoot it you need to clean it.
