Five communities and one golf course have been approved for funding through the Community Hunting Access Program (CHAP) for the 2020-21 deer hunting season. CHAP provides partners with financial and technical assistance to administer hunting programs in their area.
Learn more and find a list of approved community partners at on.IN.gov/dnrchap Hunters interested in CHAP can register for a possible opportunity to participate through the Deer Hunt Registry at on.IN.gov/deerhuntregistry.

Just registered. This really could be interesting and exciting... Potentially, yes but I wouldn't hold my breath. We've seen this before when they had "hunters helping farmers" I don't think anyone on this site even heard of any of their friends getting a call. I'll be interested if there are any different results this time around.

I'm participating in a hunt this year and at the proficiency screening the coordinator said there are going to be a few more hunts in the state this year. The application process is no joke so they can weed out the people who aren't serious about it.

I'm so glad Bloomington finally went with the community hunt rather than the sharpshooters.

I hunted Griffey lake last year. Although I didn’t kill a single deer, it was fun to hunt a new spot. It wasn’t for a lack of deer that I didn’t kill any. Plenty of sightings, just never could close the deal. I’m in a again this year.
