Several of our large, predominantly liberal-governed cities are calling for “defunding the police.” I have read comments from numerous politicians behind this that are calling for “unarmed first responders, mental health, and social professionals” to respond to particular 911 calls.
Here’s my question: Has anyone asked the potential “unarmed....” folks what they think about this?

I think the majority of law enforcement officers are good people.
Like the bad priest, doctors, Boy Scout leaders, teachers and others that abuse their power and their actions get swept under the rug there needs to be action to stop them. Those holding the broom also need to be held accountable.
Defunding police departments will lead to more problems.

Just heard on the radio news, the mayor of LA got their defunding pushed thru, along with another major city, but cant remember the other(s).

Gee guys, c'mon...this is a great idea! You take money from the police department, fund social programs with it and that will take care of all the problems. No more poor people, no more drugs, no more stealing, no more sexual assaults, no more domestic violence and on and on and on.
It'll be a regular Shangri la...
