Hello everyone I finally came out from under my rock and bought a smart phone. I've had a flip phone for years anyway what is WI-FI calling? Is this something you do or do not have turned on on your phone why or why not? Thanks!

Wi-fi calling uses your wireless internet rather than a cell signal.
You may want to consider using wi-fi calling if your cell coverage is poor, but your wireless internet is available. It also doesn't count against your cell plan minutes. So, you may also want to consider it if your plan does not include unlimited calling.
I sometimes find that I do still get disconnected when using wi-fi calling.

Is this something you do or do not have turned on on your phone why or why not? Thanks! I've recently made the same transition, and am trying to learn how to use this thing. Fortunately, my wife has had a smart phone for a few years, and after almost 53 years marriage, she just loves to tell me how to do things!!

I forget what service I looked into but they specialized in WiFi calling. I do not remember why I did not suscribe as I had almost zero conection in work but good data from their WiFi. I also believe it is called VOIP. Whenever I try to use a public WiFi my phone warns me that I am not on a secure network.

I just had my slide phone go out a year ago and had to get a smart phone. Little bit of difference from my slide phone.
