The censorship, the tearing down of monuments, the mob rule, the hysterical, emotional attacks on other`s right to say what they think and feel: this sums it up quite nicely:
It didn't come from the Government down. There was no dictum, no declaration, no censorship, to start with, no! Technology, mass exploitation, and minority pressure carried the trick, thank God.

I assumed tearing down of monuments; name changing etc was what censorship was implying

This whole thing is nuts if you think a brand name is offensive don’t buy it vote with your dollars nothing will make a manufacturer change fast like a loss of profit I’ve never picked up a uncle bens aunt jemima or any product and thought I’m buying this one cause it’s racist get over it

I could see Aunt Jemima maybe being offensive, but Uncle Ben? Eskimo Pies? That is nuts... I ate Eskimo Pies as a kid. You would think the company would go ask the Eskimoes if the name offended them before dropping it in their own. They will lose sales for sure. Some people wanted Florida State Seminoles to drop their “racist mascot and name” but when they asked the Seminole tribe they said leave it alone.

Indian motorcycles will have to drop their name as well. And don't forget all the racist named sports teams. 🙄

I just think it's being over-sensationalized in my opinion. Granted what the officer(s) have done is reprehensible but come on when will enough be enough. Tearing down statue's/monuments/brand name changing. I get it some change is needed but really, in my own opinion they are making history right now and erasing it slowly on the other hand. Sure people are allowed to assemble/protest use freedom of speech but when did we hit the tipping point of it spiraling from peaceful demonstrations to mass mob's hysteria and "burn it down" mentality.
Now before anyone decides to cast a stone I completely understand that not everyone has that mentality of "light it ablaze" but in all reality you would think that they would realize that all this is doing is being more degrading than fostering it and helping it grow.
Now we have these autonomous zones/chop zones. Like the shooting in the shop zone in Seattle where one person died and the other was critically wounded and the ones occupying the chop zone are now prohibiting police from entering rendering first aid and more over not being able to provide security for the fire fighters and paramedics to administer live saving intervention. Sure there will be law suits against the first responder's but in all reality when is enough going to be enough.
I think that everyone who is calling for change, albeit, long over due. They need to first have a pragmatic approach to this and logically think things thru versus going out and looking for heads to mount on pikes.
My 2 pennies, now you may commence casting the stones if you wish.

Might want to start thinking about what to call the state where we now live, and it's capitol city.
I'm from South Bend, originally, and I suppose it should be safe since it's still located on the southernmost bend of the St. Joseph River. The river name and the county name may need to be altered, and the favorite college football team in my home area is already under fire to change from the "Fightin' Irish" that had us all celebrating any Irish ancestry we could claim or imagine when the Golden Domers regularly crushed most invaders on their turf every fall. A lot of us snickered about the number of Irish 280# linemen with names that ended in "-ski or -zak", but we didn't see it as being racist or in any way denigrating to either the Irish or the Polish.
"Aboriginala" doesn't exactly flow off the tongue, does it? "Indigenia"? That could work, and we could still keep the capital's nickname of Indy, and wouldn't have to settle the squabble between the half dozen or so tribes that inhabited various area in the state prior to it's renaming the first time.
