Frankton had its annual muzzleloader shoot on Sept 17th during the Heritage Days festival. There were only about twelve shooters, but we still had a good time, and it was a nice safe shoot. We need a few more shooters next year though!

What are the rules? I've never been around one much, but if I have the gear I might give it a shot next year. Give me a reason to go to the Heritage Days anyways.

Before my daughter and family moved to Florida she was the one who put the parade on for Heritage Days.

That's great guys! The shoot is held in the northeast corner of the field. You may shoot any caliber of muzzleloader with open sights, offhand at 25 yards. There are six matches where you shoot once at a piece of white cardboard with an "X" drawn on it for a $1.00. The guy closest to the mark gets the money. The more shooters the more money! The seventh match is a three shot group for $5.00 at 25 yards. The guy with the tightest group closest to the center of the X wins the top prize, and they usually have prizes out to fifth place. This years top prize was a New England Firearms 50 caliber muzzleloader. We have a good time, and it's a great chance to meet some of the locals that like to shoot and hunt.

Sounds good, if this board is still around next year I will get ahold of you and get the details.
Its been about 5+ yrs since I have been up there. Used to go all the time from playing sports up there since pee wee baseball through highschool always had something going on for the parade. But once you get a bit older with no kids the attraction just isn't there. My girl will be 2 next year so she might want to win a soda at the ring toss or a gold fish if they still have those games.

So Inline, Flint, or Percussion Cap doesn't matter? Any type of ammo, Sabot, Patch & Ball or Conicals?
Hope you post a reminder next year. I am looking for some causal matches (safe but light hearted fun).
