The last few years I've used Glass Plus window cleaner to swab out my MZ barrel and it works better than anything else I have used.
There is no ammonia in it like some other window cleaners.

Unless you have plastic or lead fouling,,,plain rubbing alcohol works wonders.

I'm in the process of testing a new MZ solvent. I read it somewhere online and it sounded good. Prestone AntiFreeze & water! The antifreeze has alcohol & chemicals to protect metal, so I figured why not? Tried the inline shotgun the other evening with Pyrodex powder, and cleaned it with the new mixture. So far it seems to have done the job.

Try 3 parts rubbing alcohol, 3 parts peroxide, and 1 part Murphy's Oil Soap. Best solvent I've tried yet. Won't take lead or plastic out,,,but it'll knock the heck out of fouling...
