Pedestrian-wise, when I was about 21 I was coming home from the hoot-owl shift on a snowy day going thru a sketchy neighborhood. A small child ran out between 2 parked cars and I hit him. He went partly over the top of my VW bug and landed on the curb. Fortunately he suffered only a broken thumb.
It was cold, and the child was wearing very little. Shortly, several brothers came out of nearby houses and accused me of speeding and running the nearby stop sign. Very threatening. Then the police and ambo showed up and took control. There were, fortunately, other drivers on the street that had stopped and told the police that I did not blow the sign and was driving normally.
I learned from my insurance agent that the police were unable to locate the child's parents for a day and a half. Questions were raised about that and why the barely clothed toddler was outside and in the street at 8:00 in the morning on a cold, snowy day.
Reading about the poor pregnant woman being struck brought that memory back I guess, and I to this day am so thankful that the poor child suffered only a thumb injury. I also suspect that the child never had a chance in life.
And, thankful that I wasn't beaten to a pulp before the cops arrived.

You bet, plenty...you should see Memphis. There are areas where you just don't go.

The pedestrians getting hit is a far more frequent event than the two that IMPD cars struck, they just aren't as news worthy.
The officer involved shootings are always just one decision away from happening. Thus far I to the investigation, it seems both were justified.
The two arrested officers have absolutely no excuse. For most, that job is a calling. But for some, it is just a paycheck. And for some, it is a paycheck that provides power they get addicted to and abuse.

I saw a post on a facebook group claiming one of the arrested cops is a mod on INGO. I don't know which but it would be interesting if it were the firearm theft, wonder if it was sold there.
