I’ve been scouting this bird since the end of March and he was staying in one general area. This morning we get set up waiting on him to start gobbling from his normal spot and to my typical turkey luck....he was roosted in a spot I wouldn’t have guessed. I gave him some soft yelps off of my sweet sounding custom Double S slate call hoping he could hear it from where he was roosted and he answered back! He finally gobbled again after fly down and I could tell he was getting closer. I gave a few clucks and yelps and BOOM...he gobbled down in the valley really close. Bryson whispers at me and says “he’s right there”...10 yds away to our left in full strut!! He makes his way out to our decoy spread 15 yds away and struts around for a few before I got nervous about the two jakes he brought with him. I told Bryson to shoot whenever he could and the rest is history!! I’m so freaking pumped for him! He couldn’t stop shaking once we got out to the bird and THAT’S what it’s all about!!! Good Luck to all this season and be safe!! God Bless!! 24 lbs. 11” beard 3/4” spurs

Congratulations buddy and great job Bryson! One of your local spots or out of county? Local...Down the road from your camp. Good deal. We actually had a few birds a couple weeks ago, but haven't seen them since. I figure they're on the east side of the valley like normal by now.

Good one! Looks like cameraman got a little excited at the shot and didn't stay on the bird! Congratulations again!
