We were informed today that our company will remain open no matter what. We are a diesel repair facility for semi's. Some of our customers are in food service. So the transportation services must go forward.

Good luck ...with all that! Closing stores is one thing making people stay at home will be almost impossible.

There is no overreach. Even the young and healthy can get very sick from this disease. There are two congressmen who have tested positive for the SARS CoV-2 virus and have the COVID-19 disease. You can die from this disease if you are young. Even the young are not immune to this deadly disease. Head the words of this congressman. He's a democrat but he has a GOP colleague who also has the COVID-19 disease. This virus attacks Dems, Repugs and independents alike.

Good luck ...with all that! Closing stores is one thing making people stay at home will be almost impossible. And that is the very problem with this disease. People can't or won't stay at home even when they know that they have the virus. And there are people out there walking around with this virus inside them and growing and spreading it to others even before they know that they are sick. This virus is continuing to spread and it will take a draconian force to stop it. Only a dictatorship can force people to stay in their homes or be shot on sight by the army. That is how the Chinese Government is stopping the spread of the virus in China. We are never going to be able to do that here.

And we need those supply trucks to deliver groceries to stores etc. Stay safe man.

I wouldnt be to concerned. MP units are first to mobilize. I used to date an MP in the Indiana Gaurd. 80% of them have failed their PAT multiple times in a row.

So what your saying is White Collar Lives Matter. I’m really getting ed off seeing Corporate American white collar folks hiding at home sitting on their couches with their lap dogs face timing and e-mailing telling us Blue Collar Self Sacrificing Second Class Americans to keep on waiting on them hand and foot so that they can continue to make a dollar and getting fat off of our blood sweat and tears. (Sorry for the run on sentence/ NOT) From what I can see, our leaders are on vacation or hiding with their heads in the sand. I never thought that the lack of communication about the true safety hazards and the failure to share confirmed cases with employees would be so wide spread. I have seen more of the little people (blue collar workers) standing up and sacrificing their health and their loved ones health for our community this week. I’m proud of my team for their continued sacrifices and I pray that it’s not all in vain at the end.

My company passed out a question and answer brochure on what to do in certain circumstances. Q: What do I do if a family member has been in contact with the coronavirus and is quarantined at home? A: Continue coming to work until the individual is confirmed to be infected. So in other words, keep going to work so you can potentially infect all your coworkers and until you start showing symptoms, then go off and die or bury a family member because we made two more nickels off of you.

I imagine they have to sanitize the inside of the trucks or take really good precautions. Getting in the truck to pull it in the shop, etc. Imagine grabbing the steering wheel that the driver sneezed on, or the gear shift knob that the driver grabbed after wiping their snotty nose?

That's everyday life! Yes, wearing gloves, wiping and spraying down on entrance and exit of trucks, shop hot spots, etc. All in a days work.

I'm curious how long ago this was put out and if any employees pointed out the obvious risks to the company, its employees and the general public this policy imposes. Steve

I was not aware that the President had control over the State's National Guard units. I guess I'm wrong?

I've never heard of that before. Governors can call out the State's National Guard. I'm not sure how the Federal Goverment can activate the State's national guards. Maybe if congress declares war or something. Right now the Federal Government needs to start making factories produce the facemasks that health care workers desperately need to do their work. If they don't get these makes they will get sick and not be able to work. Some may just stop working and refuse to treat patients with this virus if they don't get the PPE's that they so desperately need. PPE = protective personal equipment. Such as masks, face shields, gowns, coveralls, gloves, boots and other things to keep them safe while working around peole that have this virus.

This is exactly why the virus continues to spread. The plan we are using is not working. If it were working the number of virus patients would not be increasing. And they are not even testing a lot of people. If they start testing more people they will find more peoplle that test postiive. There may be people with the virus that are only barely sick and these are the ones that are spreading the virus around to everyone else. I'm sick of hearing about this virus and wish it would just goa away soon. But it's not going to do that. And we must be ready to hunker down for a long time or else get this virus. I'm ordering my groceries to be delivered and hope that the bags are not contaminated with this virus. They can deliver the groceries and not have contact with me. But I still have to tough the bags that were used to hold the groceries and then touch the groceries too. Washing my hands won't stop me from getting the virus as I can't wash my hands ever 15 seconds.

This has already been denied by the White House. No such plans in place, or even being discussed. Trump labeled it as "fake news" yesterday. Don't believe everything you hear on the "news".

greetings One way or another the circle of infection has to be broken and if that means Marshall law then so be it Bring it on, just lets all get back to a normal relatively safe life as quickly as we can. And if that is what is needed to save our mature members of society then so be it.
Never Ever forget our mature members were asked to go to war to die, we are been asked to sit at home on the couch drinking coffee etc etc , DO NOT MESS IT UP. regards Billy

I should be considered a necessary critical worker at my job since it affects public safety. If there is a travel ban in Indiana or Kentucky I will be getting paid overtime for as long as it lasts. That will be nice since my wife is expecting to have her small business shut down any day now. My part time job was shut down Monday.

Overtime is always great for hourly folks. Is anyone talking about hazard pay for hourly and salary workers who are put at risk daily?
