Well, it's that time of the year again. The Karl Kelley Camp is now open for the sign up for the camp. I've already reserved a spot for a "deserving" kid that a local retired LEO picks out of our local school system, and my son goes through the Bloomington Boys Club to sponsor. There was a good response of members here last year, but just didn't quite get enough possible donations to meet the cost. Yup, it's not cheap, nor expensive if we have enough jump in with a few bucks. Cost? $350.00. icoo.com/wp/youthcamp/.

Thanks for the replies, glad there are some out there that care. Best way to carry this out is to spread it out and have a local LEO that does visits to there local schools, or have your county ICO contact a school consular who could recommend a "deserving" kid. That's how I managed to start doing my part of just paying for it several years ago. Local shooting ranges, clubs, etc. to gather up enough dollars to cover the cost. Some times it takes my retired city cop a couple of months to come up with a kid that would never be able to attend the camp, one that they didn't even know about it, and if they did there was not enough money in the house to pay for it. As the camp is sponsored by the Indiana Conservation Officers Organization, it spells that this camp is well run. Local LEO and ICO's have way in each county to get the idea across to schools to pick a kid and also to help gather up a few bucks on the way. As popular as this site is, there is a chance that several counties could get a yearly thing going. If your county ICO would hesitate to help out,PM me his name. He might just get a phone call that would result in suddenly changing his mind. Kind of simple once things get started. Clubs, etc. start getting funds, cops or whoever gets a hold of local school counselor, kid gets picked [with parents or caretakers permission],paper work filled out You would not believe the change that happened in a couple of the kids I paid to attend the camp.

Let's wait a couple of weeks to see if any clubs step up to the plate. Look at what the members down south do!http://duboiscountysportsmen.org/
