Anyone change their mind down the road and get a shoulder mount done when you didnt have a cape?
The head off my deer has been sitting in the freezer, and the longer its sat the more Ive wanted to do a mount. Ive never had a shoulder mount done so I do not know how difficult/more expensive it is to have one done with a donated cape. Is it too late in the year to expect anything?
I would have Dean stallion do the work, Ill call him tomorrow for more detail but just looking for a general idea.

He gets in bucks that the folks just want a horn or Euro mount done and he keeps the capes. I quit getting shoulder mounts quite a few years back as I've run out of wall space. Mostly "horn mounts" now.

Guess I should have checked with the wife.
No mounts allowed outside of the gun room, which is more ceiling than walls, that leaves the garage, and im not keen on spending $600 for it to collect saw dust.
Ill save my wall space for a bigger deer.

I have 4 mounts in my basement and my wife wants me to move them to the new barn. I stated I can't since it is not heated and I will when it is insulated and heated. She said ok then to heating it. She wasn't for heating it. Now she's on board. In the winter I'll keep it in low 40's and mid to upper fifties on days working out there. My new man cave!\
I still need to taxidermy last years buck. Cape time is running out. I have about 3 or 4 more months.

I want to get one more than I'll have to start saving for A once in a lifetime buck to be mounted if I ever get one or for my boys once they get one.

When our basement flooded two weeks ago. After clean up the deer head mounts came up. Perfect timing.
