Find an old utility trailer or boat trailer that can be pulled with an ATV or an UTV, build a comfy 2 man blind on it and tow it to your location. Keep it simple dark colors heat up nicely on cold days, you don't need to camo it or worry about camo paint deer don't mind. Slide windows, solid carpeted floor, swivel bar stool, shooting ledges.

This is a Terrain blind that I bought online for $320 and build the stand out of damaged lumber that I bought from Lowes. The metal corner supports I bought at Menards for $59 so total I have $450in this awesome water proof warm stand. Stand is 12’ tall.

Some very good points here. I built my 4x4 which the bottom is 4 feet from the ground for under a 100. I had a few things laying around. I bought miss mixed stain to put on it. I paid 3.99 per gallon on it. Normally over 40 per gall. Color doesnt matter my sides are barn red and my roof is smurf blue. 4 feet up I put 2x6 bds all the way around and they never move. The rest of the house is screwed together and I can take it down. I just back up truck and tilt it back to store in barn.

Here's a cheap/easy alternative to building a blind. Now it's by no means weather-tight, but keeps most of the wind off of you and keeps you dry. Stays pretty warm with a propane heater, even with half the windows open. I got two of these Muddy Quad-Pod stands after last season at Rural King for 50% off. They make blind kits for them, which probably fit a bit better, but I already had a couple of ground blinds in the garage to put on them. They're also surprisingly easy to move with two guys, I think it weighs less than 200 pounds.

I know you said you don't want to build, but... I am CHEAP! Kept my eyes out for used/damaged materials I could get free and I have about $350 total in two of these with a 4'x8' footprint. Most of that cost was in the plexiglass windows all the way around.

HMMMM, you all have me thinking now. I've got plenty of metal that I saved from putting on a new metal roof. Probably have enough for a couple of these things. Just need to keep my eyes open for some cheap wood now. Never thought that I could use that metal for my shoot house. I was going to plan on saving it for my outside storage shed that I planned on building next to the house. May tell the wife plans have changed, I'm really looking for ways to get my girls involved in hunting.

May tell the wife plans have changed, I'm really looking for ways to get my girls involved in hunting. That is the precise reason I built two of these to begin with. Abbie wanted to start hunting about 5 years ago and proved to me in the double ladder stand that she just couldn't sit still. I needed a way to keep her movements concealed and so I went about gathering materials. She lasted a day and a half the first two seasons even in the confines of the shooting shacks. She didn't hunt again until this year and now she loves it after scoring her first doe on the evening of the 16th. The only downside to them is the fact that it becomes pretty easy to fall asleep in them. However, that may not be considered a downside.

If you go to Lowes Sunday evening and ask the Manager for a 80% discount on the warp and damaged pieces that everyone picked over on the weekend, he will usually make you a great deal.

I also built this stand from warp and damaged lumber from Lowes. I bought the metal from Custom Metals I’m Greenfield. They have scrap pieces really cheap - $5 each sheet.

Nice setup, how much do you have in that popcorn? I do like the steps going into it, I may have to add a hand rail possibly something to get my dad into. He's approaching 70, legs don't quite work like they used to.

Wow. You guys have a lot better construction skills than I do. I wouldn't go more than 5 feet off the ground in anything I built.
