MINNESOTA STARTS CROSSBOW ORGANIZATION
On March 18, 2006 the first official meeting of the Minnesota Association of Crossbow Hunters (MACH) was held at Baxter, MN in the Lodge Room of the Gander Mountain store. Twelve members attended and much was accomplished during the first formal business meeting,
The name of our organization was adopted, a mission statement was written and a membership fee was established. Goals were discussed and priorities were established. The primary objective is to get new members to help us with our mission and to insure our steady growth.
The mission statement of MACH reads as follows:
The Minnesota Association of Crossbow Hunters is dedicated to the promotion and preservation of crossbow hunting and all other forms of legal hunting with all legal weapons in accordance to include people of all age groups, regardless of physical ability.
Sources for the names of hunters and other new members are being investigated and plans for reaching the public with our mission statement are underway. We would like to add your name to our membership list as we begin to work towards the expansion of the crossbow hunting opportunity in Minnesota. If you would like to help us in our quest, please send us your name, address and telephone number along with $20 for your first year’s dues.
If we are to accomplish what we have set out to do, we must have the support of all that are in favor of crossbow hunting. You don’t have to commit to doing a lot, but becoming a dues paying member will go a long way to helping us get this organization off the ground. If you have any question or would like to know how you can become personally involved, call the MACH Main Desk at 320-634-3660 and ask for Daniel.
Send your information and membership dues to:
M.A.C.H.
POB 251
GLENWOOD, MN 56334
Each member will receive by U.S.P.S. a copy of the ACF’s Crossbow Hunter Safety Booklet as well as quarterly updates on the clubs progress. More membership benefits will become available as they are approved by the membership committee and the MACH Board of Directors.
