Generally hunt bow always but with the wind coming out of east tomorrow I have to hunt the other side of staging area I’ve been hitting hard this year. Will need the .308 to be able to touch all bases from that side.

Crossbow. Hunting my spot that the owner only allows bows. Was planning on gun hunting but since I got those two this week on the gun property I'm opting to go to the other property for doe patrol. Me as well. I have exclusive rights to an area that is "out in the county," but close to a residential development. I'm looking out of the patio door right now at where I will be parked. This is probably the only year, maybe next, that I will be able to hunt the property. It's all I have for now so I plan to make the best of it.

6.5 Creed for the fields. 350 Legend or 444 in the brush. And the 308 Hand cannon.

Remington 870 Super mag (iron sights) with 3” slugs
Savage 111 7mm mag
Grandpas Winchester 12 with iron sights ( 3” slugs)
And since they added it to the list this year, s&w .40
The shotguns are shooting a 3” group or better at 50 yards, the 7mm mag shoots 3” groups at 300 yards, and the .40 will decimate all at under 15 yards.
With as tight of quarters as I’m in, I think I’m going to take granddaddy’s gun just for luck. Unless I have an ethical shot (from the ground) at 10 yards or below, I’ll keep the .40 holstered.
Good luck out there fellas!

Shot the .243 this afternoon to double check it @ 100 yds. 2 shots, 2 holes touching each other.

Got them all sighted in. Grandson is taking the 12 gauge Ithaca DeerSlayer II and I’m leaning towards my $20 Savage Axis .243. Might do enie menie miny more. Savage .243? Ruger .44 Carbine? Remington 870? Options are so fun aren't they?

The CVA Optima 2 pistol is the main plan. I'll have the new 357 tucked under my arm in case of any finish shots but I won't be opposed if one is dumb and close. I'll also have my Marlin 30/30 hanging in the case beside me just in case the old dude doesn't quite want to commit to my side of the hill. I let this deer walk for 3 years then last year he never got close enough to let me choose. At 6 years old I believe it's time to see how chewy he is.

Well hunted a bow only property today, inside town limits. Tomorrow will take .308 to the farm. Never shot a deer with it but shot it plenty at the range.
