Neighbor shot a doe last night, couldn't find it, he said no blood trail. Turns out I think he only hit one lung, arrow entered near spine, exited the bottom of the deer. Another neighbor found it next to his pond today. 10 feet away from the base of his ladder stand, but it's 21 feet to the platform where he stands.

Heading to the Hoosier Forest in the morning for a little while before my youngins B-day birthday party. Haven't been there since the 3rd weekend of squirrel season. Saw a lot of good signs where I usually set up, but the mosquitoes wouldn't leave us alone. Maybe something will grace me with a shot, so I can give my youngins a awesome B-day present. Good luck to the rest who will be in the woods and be safe

Sitting here with a cup of joe, eating a slice of my homemade whole wheat bread with dutch cheese and DeJuiter Chocoladevlokken, reading the last issue of MuzzleBlast. One final swig, on go the boots as I get ready to head to the deer woods for the first time this season. God bless all getting out today!

HCG, it sounds like you are having a good morning sir! Your pre-hunt snack sounds better than my "on the fly" Pop tarts.
I'm headed out in just a couple of minutes. I am going to head to the 20 acre spot and what is moving there.

Just pulled up to the gate at the Hoosier Forest and as I'm getting ready to get the quiver on my crossbow, it hits me. I walked out of the house and left all my field dressing equipment on top of my gun cabinet. Oh well, that's a season tradition for me. I'm always forgetting something on my 1st day of deer season, sure glad nothing has changed lol.

At least it was there and not at home still.

John Wayne has one at 35 yards but no shot. He said she milled around and then started blowing. We heard her too. Obviously too far away to see her

Lots of squirrel activity this morning. Zero deer activity. Weather is awesome here in Switzerland county. My 11 year old son is actually cold!

Lone doe at 7am and just came back. Ten yards both times. Looks like she is bedding down.

Have had a doe pop out twice at about 100 yards, eat some acorns, and then head back the way she came. Just playing with us.
