Dead as could be in my woods. Haven't been seeing many deer. Still a lot of standing corn in our area, that has to be hurting things.

I have a couple long weekends coming up at the end of the month. Hoping most if not all of the fields are done by then.

Got an invite to hunt my buddies back yard this season. We in the flat part of his back 3 acres where it's all grass and 2 apple trees. This is a track that we stumbled across while looking around. The hand is of my 6ft tall 16yr old son and the size comparison is awesome. We bumped a 1.5 yr old doe who was bedded down not 10 yrds from us and found 2 big scrapes under a small group of trees.

Yeppers, we haven't seen the best days. In my area the temps for next weekend are in the 60's for the H and the weekend after that are in the mid 50's with lows in the mid 30's. I'm itching for the colder weather, get them brutes and beauties up and moving for a change.

Weather is a bit warm but it is still especially peaceful hanging out with mother nature. Experienced early movement yesterday so back at it early again

The only bad thing about hunting the thick stuff is finding a shooting window. Decent 8 point cruised through with no opportunity!

Well just got home from my buddies house. Had the same doe we bumped this morning come right back to the fence dividing his property and the neighbors. Had I'd known all I had to do was ask, I could've had her at 3 yrds but I didn't want to shoot over a property line. My son and wife's Uncle sat on the other side of the property and they saw a heavy 12 and 2 doe but neither would commit to jump the fence. My buddy said that neighbor would call the law in the drop of a hat, so I'm glad they were smart and stayed where it was safe.

Not live from the stand, but been busy and no cell service at this particular stand. I took my youngest daughter to the neighbor's woods where she killed a nice 8 point last year. We got settled in about 3 pm central.
No activity for the first hour, then had 2 small flocks of hens come through. They were leery of us and we couldn't get a clear shot close enough. They wandered off and it was quiet for another 30 minutes or so.
About 5 pm I spotted a small buck directly behind us at maybe 15 yards. This stand I have set up nearly on a creek looking uphill where the deer generally move but he came in different. Our scent must've blew over his head because he made it to 20 yards quartering away.
He saw us getting her crossbow ready, but just stood there looking at us. She made a perfect shot. He bucked and took off across the dry creek, blood gushing out the whole way and died maybe 40 yards from the shot location. We saw him go down but practiced blood trailing anyway.
A few pics, gutted and drug the buck uphill a bit over 400 yards to another neighbor's yard where I borrowed his 4 wheeler for the rest of the way. Got him on ice and going to clean up.
Happy and relieved both my girls got a deer. Will start chasing antlers myself starting next weekend.

Killed a nice doe Saturday AM with the compound. She's hanging in the walk in awaiting butchering. Unfortunately she rolled on and broke my lucky arrow, she marked the fourth deer killed with that arrow.

Yesterday all I had were turkeys, and not close enough to shoot. With the poor weather rolling in, and work calling, I won't get out until the weekend, well, maybe Wednesday fr an hour or two if the weather improves.

Call me crazy....but im out. Strapped in a ladder stand I havent hunted yet this year. Stormed pretty hard earlier. Pretty stiff winds at the moment and remainder of the evening I believe. I've got my rain gear on but its not raining at the moment. Going to sit here and ride it out. Maybe get lucky!

I bumped a deer about 40 yards from my tree. Didn't get a look at it.
I had a close encounter with a nice buck out of this stand October 20 last year. This is the first time I've been here this season.
I see a big buck, dead, about 200 yards away. I'll go check him out after dark tonight. Don't know if it's EHD or a hunter kill, or something else. He's probably a mile from any road that sees daily traffic.
