Hey guys,
My name is Louie Payne and I video with Drury Outdoors and I live in Kentucky so I am looking into hunting Indiana since it is so close to me, I just wanted to see if anyone may have room for me and of course it will be videoed and if I am successful it would air on one of the Drury Outdoors shows, so if you have any room just give me a call and we can work out the details.
Thank you,
Louie Payne 270-766-4241

What exactly are you looking for?
Indiana has several fenced operations that offer massive racks.
We have to lots of well managed free range private ground that hold impressive deer.
We have endless amounts of private ground that is a coin flip for book sized deer, has plenty of decent deer, and has the chance to have a monster show up.
Then there are the multiple public ground properties that would be a perfect place to do an educational video on scouting, selecting location, and putting meat in the freezer with the same chance at a good buck with the possibility of a giant showing up.
What exactly are you looking for?

What would a private land owner have to gain from allowing someone coming from another state hunting their land and video tape the hunt?

There's a few things to gain I suppose. Foot in the door of outdoor entertainment world, someone to film your hunts, perhaps just a new friend. The work will be finding someone with the same goal I suppose.
Good luck on your search. I hope it works out for you and whomever else.

What exactly are you looking for? I am looking for a free ranging fair chase hunt, I might have to resort to public land but the only reason I don’t want to fight a crowd number 1 and number 2 I had a tree stand accident in 2014 and it has left me jacked up to only hunt ground blinds so just can’t go that deep in the timber anymore to get away from everyone and that’s why I would like to find some private ground that someone might be willing to let me in.

I understand that you don’t like a out of state hunter, I get it because most doesn’t have a very good reputation and yes Kentucky also offers all that but we are a 1 buck limit and if you only bow hunt it’s time to leave when the guns start popping but I will assure that I do everything in my power to respect someone’s land like it was mine and over the years I have made very good friends hunting different states and some land owners enjoy seeing a filmed hunt on there land but I respect your comment and I wish you the best of luck hunting this year

Bow or firearms? There is a lot of very good public ground available during the early archery season. Firearms season not so.

Bow only, I would rather find a private farm or even a small piece of property near suburbs, I have been bow hunting over 40 years so I know how to take very good care of hunting property, I would be grateful for any leads, thanks

Family farm, bust your ass helping the farmer with work, or shell out the pocketbook. I do all 3. Hard enough to find ground, even harder to find somebody that will just let you walk in and shoot one of there bucks, because you film for a show. I did it once for another Drury team member. No names. Was a joke. Pouted cause he didnt kill in 3 days and left without saying thanks for the hospitality or opportunity.

I don't have any spots to offer, but what show are you involved in? I'd like to check it out. I thought the Drury/associated crowd only hunted large, highly managed farms. I don't have much interest in watching those types of shows, but it sounds like you're going at it more like any old regular Joe. Also, like firstwd and others said, you may be surprised at what you find if do some public land scouting during archery on some of the more isolated public land parcels in the southern 1/3 of the state. One of my favorite spots is on a very small piece, I usually set up within 200 yards of the road.

I am truly sorry you had a bad experience with one of the teams and I understand that its fair chase hunt so not everyone will kill and they should have understood that as well, but i get it on how hard it is to find a spot because its the same way here in Kentucky but I thought maybe there might be a chance for a few days of hunting but maybe not, like i said before I apologize for the other team and good luck this year I hope you kill a giant.

The show that I am on is Natural Born, right now its on the pursuit channel, you can also watch a lot on Drury Outdoors youtube channel, but I am just an average Joe that loves to bow hunt, I will put a link below to one of my hunts, thanks for your comments and good luck this year. youtu.be/0ZdBKYHlYN0

I have numerous friends that hunt northern IN public areas (lot larger spots down south) and he saw ONE other bow hunter all year last year up till that last week before gun season.

Most of our good ground goes for at least $30/acre, maybe more. Base camp is a good resource if you want to get spendy

In response to Northern Indiana public land bow hunting I would LOVE to know where to go to only see 1 other hunter till gun season. Because I hunted Salamonie, Mississinewa, JE Rousch, Winamac, Pidgeon River, Tri-lakes, Willow Slough, and LaSalle. And there’s hunters everywhere. I spent about a week at each place always on the move hunting new spots every night. I had a blast of a season but just saying. Northern Indiana has a ton of hunters
