No doubt he earned the right to retire as QB. He has been brutalized with internal injuries, shoulders and now legs. Get out while you can walk.
Colts messed up on the way it was leaked, not investing in protection and just about every other was possible.
He will be replaced soon enough and Colts will repeat the same mistakes they made with Payton and Luck.

I’m not sure they will new and better line that we have not had in years new coach finally I think things could be looking up for them Myself I think luck was overrated he was good I just don’t think he was great

The colts have been consistent in poor line. They will go back to it so they can get the next top rated QB.

I've seen a couple of blurbs about Teddy Bridgewater maybe leaving the Saints to come to the Colts.
With his knee, I don't know if I would take a chance on him as my starting QB, but when it comes to the Colts, who knows...

I saw a report that said Luck had his tires slashed. That is pathetic. There's some low class fans I guess.

I got my tires slashed once in Fort Wayne. I was parked on the street during the 1st week of the 3 weekend party downtown. I still had ohio plates. Two kids hit 4 ohio plate cars and police catch them on the 5th. That was 1985.

I'm guessing he can afford a few tires. Probably a good idea to move, far far away

Better to quit when you can still walk away on your own. Nothing is more important than your health. If you don't have your health all the money in the world can't help you.
I very seldom watch Pro Football or Pro Basketball anymore except for the Superbowl and NBA final play offs. I watch college football and basketball instead.
If you were in constant pain it would be hard to go back to work and endure the pain. Pain can't always be ignored.

Being one that deals with constant pain, I say if one has the financial ability to retire and avoid any further damage/pain it's the best option to do so.

I read an article a day or so ago, about younger players stepping down sooner than players did in the past (in no small part due to the long term effects of concussions and other injuries.
When you make the money some of them do today, why not ride the wave for a while, bank your money and retire @ 30 (sort of like Gronkowski and Luck did)?
I personally think it's a smart move.

When I was 25/26 I played for Fort Wayne Flames (MISL). I ripped all four ligaments in the left ankle. I healed and play one scrimmage and that was it. I was tired of the hurting body and so called "retired". I wasn't making enough to call it retire. $800/month and had to pay for room, board and sometimes transportation. Now 58 I'm paying for it with arthritis in all my whole body.

I wish I could financially retire at 44. Will be lucky to retire by 65 at this rate.
