I came up with this idea for carrying your wild turkey from the woods to the truck without slinging it over your shoulder and getting blood everywhere. I looked on the market and saw some sling-like gadgets, but nothing like this. The Tom Toter is essentially a three-sided tote bag with a hole in the bottom of the front end for the bird's head/neck to go through. The back end and top are open. When your bird is down, just open the Toter and slide the turkey's head/neck through the hole as far as he'll go. The bird goes in with his back down and feet up. The wings, feet and fan are all gathered without messing them up. Use the Velcro fastener to secure the bird and off you go back to the truck while blood can drip from the head/neck. Here are some photos of the prototype. I have to right click and open in a new tab. Maybe some of you can see the images in the thread. The fabric is green duck, washable and very durable. I believe there could be color options, maybe even camo or blaze orange, but I'll look into that. In production, the handle straps will be shortened a little and some fabric will be removed from where the handles join the Toter. These adjustments will bring the bird's head off the ground a little more than shown in the photos. My mother is an awesome seamstress and has a small side business making all sorts of handbags and totes. Her work is impressive to say the least. The prototype looks like it is factory made, only a little better. The price is $40 American, shipped to your door. PM me and we'll take care of the details. If you think this is a good idea, please spread the word. Thanks for looking [a href=" "]link[/a]

Get a patent. Otherwise in 2 years your going to see these being sold by some large company and they are making money...and your like, "Hey! That was my idea!"

I had an idea for a mother-in-laws hat. It was brown with ears and antlers on it....even had little flaps to cover their ears...since it was intended to be worn when cold outside...particularly November.

Can you really patent a bag with an extra hole in it? I'm just hoping a few folks will want one and give my mother something to do in her spare time and she'll get the proceeds. We'll see where it goes.

We'll see where it goes. If it has not already been patented....YES...YES you can. I see it in industry all the time. Use something in a different way, in a different industry and bam! Patent! When YOUR product is being produced by Hunters Specialties and is in the next Bass-pro catalog....then what?

I came up with the idea of putting overtravel stops on my x-bow using limbsavers for rubber "stops". Not 2 or 3 years later I see the same thing on a lot of x-bows. If only.............

Since we are not all the same height or some with longer legs than others I would make the carrying handles adjustable. I'd be interested as it's a pain throwing those super sized birds I kill over my shoulder and pack them out for the miles that I hunt back in. All kidding aside I did get spurred in the hand by my bird this year when I went to set it down and it slipped. So keep safety in mind when selling your product.

Hadn't thought of that Woody, but now that you mention it, the legs are retained by the velcro strap so that the spurs are pointing to the ground. [a href=" "]link[/a]

I don't think that's an issue. The bird in the photo was not weighed, but by my judgement was over 20 lbs. There was room for a bigger bird. Smaller birds would not be a problem.

What's the weight rating of it? Will my wife fit in it? Probably need it to be a little discreet with flaps and stuff. Never mind a duffle bag will do.
Nice design none the less.
