Sunday morning I was watering an area of my yard that i seeded a few days earlier and heard some rustling in the woods beside my house. I moved a little closer and heard what I think was a fawn bleating. I heard it 5 or 6 times so I ran inside and grabbed some boots to go in a little deeper and see what I could see. I didn't see any deer but found what looked like a bed that was about 4' across with lots of hair in it. Pretty much bare dirt with very few leaves in it. Is it time for does to be dropping fawns? If so, pretty cool that she decided to do it less than 30 yards from my house. 20190519_095424 by jholdaway1, on Flickr

Pretty close to time I’d say, so very well could be. Pretty neat for sure.

Yes...they're dropping now. Seen several pictures of people finding them.

I stumbled into a new born (like born that day!) fawn while mushroom hunting on Saturday. I'm guessing that's exactly what you heard.

Hopefully I get to see the little fella. Just as long as it's not in the garden.

Saw a spotted one yesterday. And got this series if photos of a mom in the beginning stages of delivery and a predator that knows. Zoom in on her backside.

I wonder if that coyote ate it. Got these pics yesterday from the land owner where I hunt.

Coyote shooting the next few weeks using a fawn in distress call should work pretty well.
