How can a field be completely torched by dnr doing a burn about two weeks ago and I can still come home covered in ticks? If fire won't kill them I do believe they will be the cause of the zombie apocalypse.

Of course, being hellspawn perhaps they have a natural resistance, or they emerged from a crack in the earth after the fire. Nasty buggers. I think I pick up more in fields than in the woods proper.

Unless a herd of samssquanches ran by, I'd say no. I had six on me. Lord help me when I search the dogs.

Two weeks ago when it was burned the ticks were buried down in the dirt and not affected by the fire. Weather warmed up and they came to the surface.

I killed a bear many years ago when we hunted Canada. It was covered in ticks. I skinned it out and put the head hide in a heavy plastic trash bag and sprayed the insides with Raid bug killer. Sealed it up again in a second bag and put it in my freezer. It was in there for several years before I got it out. It thawed out and there were ticks that I thought were dead that started crawling around again. I got out the permethrin and soaked it down. That did them in finally
