Just been on it a few days, so still checking it out, but so far, so good!
South Central Indiana REMC strung cable from the poles that have brought us our electricity pretty reliably these past 40+ years at this address, especially the last several years.
Another outfit was racing them to bring their hookups using buried cables, but I liked the idea of the REMC getting the business, and my nephew works for them, too, so I was glad they edged the other company out and got here first. I haven't tested our speed yet except to compare with some known sites that are ALWAYS slow to download, but the difference is like night and day. Google Earth comes online quickly and brings the sharpest resolutions in almost immediately, instead of taking minutes. No buffering on the vast majority of u-tube vids, and I even streamed a couple of movies in high def!
Signed up for the highest available plan they offered, but it's still less than half what we were paying for a much lower speed and limited number of gigs per month with the hot-spots we've been using the last six months.

We just got on it about a year ago. We get around 15 MBPS (whatever that means) according to the speed tests you can google up, so not lightning fast. However, we never have any trouble streaming movies on 2 TVs, with maybe a handheld device or 2 browsing at the same time.
Getting the ROKU units for our televisions and ditching satellite was a good move. Internet plus a paid TV subscription or two is costing us a lot less than just our satellite package was before, and now there's always something to worth watching available.

Can’t wait until they get to us. Hopefully within the next few months.

Few weeks ago I saw some trucks and a bunch of workers in a lot behind our house. Slapped on a side arm[major drug dealer just up the street] and went for a talk. Turned out it was REMC pushing new coax in the right of way. Got a lot of info that I didn't know about [wife takes care of the REMC bill, duh] and told him that I was sick and tired of Dish so what's the deal. Have a stub run when the crews are out back and no charge, do it later and there will be a bill. Tell wife to set up appt. for better service. Guy calls the house and wants to come out. We walked around for a few minutes and I showed him where everything was plowed in, and I will determine what goes where, period. Even had him in the house because he was curious as to what we had and all the current gripes. We got things real straight real quick. Now to have the Dish contract run out. Will be nice to have a place in town where I can go or call to get a quick answer or service. REMC has dozens of big reels of coax stored at the old Rogers place and got the word the other day, they've already had losses of cable due to theft out of that yard. Druggies will do anything any more to pay for their habit, it's a lot worse than people around here know. Cops have told me that since I-69 has come to town, the drug traffic here has exploded. Must be part of that new economic development the Governor keeps running his mouth about.

I think my internet still makes that chirping, clicking sound!
Let's just say I tried the "buffering" thing at home....and it was NOT appreciated!!!!

You guys must live way out in the boondocks. We’ve had high speed Internet here for over ten years now, I think we get 150 mbps download if I remember right.
