Ok. Had a few other expletives on my mind Turns out that a big one got me while driving down Southport Rd recently in the dark. Cost for 2 new struts, 2 new/used tires (trying to get a few more miles out of the other 2 before buying a new set), a rim repair and an oil change while in the shop: $952! Just really bites! Worst I've ever had in all my years of driving. Makes me want to stop driving in the dark!

Send the bill to the entity that owns the road. Your rims OK?

You need to plant a red cider tree in it. Sounds like it's big enough. Help out the next guy.

Yep their are all over. My daughter's boyfriend hit one at the entrance to Walmart on Lima rd Ft Wayne. Hit last Wednesday, Saturday it was still there. His Elantra did not come with a jack, lug wrench or a spare. They do have a tire pump but with a broken bead and the sidewall with a hole in it he did not even get it out. I can only use one word to describe Elantra drivers that hit potholes. STRANDED. I had the "Please Daddy" card played on me and I did help him with the jack but we had to get a socket to fit his lugs. I felt bad for the kid as he was catching it from my girl.

I'm fixing a wheel bearing this weekend on my wife's car. No movement in the wheel but plenty of noise. I'm assuming it's bad due to her hitting a pothole.

Neighbor works for a railroad. He said the fastest way to get them to fix a bad crossing is to call them and ask them where to send the repair bill for your car or truck.

That pothole would have been a great place to recycle your tire. Kinda like paying it forward. I actually seen a tire in a pothole a few weeks ago and was wounding how many headaches it had saved others.

Yet another reason I miss my old Cherokee. Most of today's Trucks and SUVs have more delicate underparts designed to compromise too much between durability and a comfortable ride.
Hitting one of those craters at normal driving speeds can really mess up a vehicle!
Sorry for your luck Highcotton!
