So, it seems you might want to weld plastic? I acquired this today not sure if it’s practical for any use by me. It just sounded too neat to pass up best I can tell is it’s for connecting pipe and requires special fitting but I’m not sure

It was the predecessor to Gorilla glue.

At work when we do a temporary overland piping we use hdpe and it has to be fused/welded. No special parts needed just good clean cuts prepped correctly. They also do a plastic weld on liners. Never done it, just watched how they did it a few times. As most know, work fascinates me...I can watch it all day long.
I do have to respond when the welds fail and I am knocking on wood and have not experience that yet. I have seen a section of pipe get gashed by equipment and I have seen deer beat feet trying to get out of a steep slope covered by a plastic liner and neither punched holes. It was impressive.

I bought a plastic welder to make some 30 and 50 gal tanks, still have to open the cardboard box it was shipped in.....
duff: I like the woven liner material from Bend Tarp Liner. Lightweight compared to HDPE and very tough.

The liner in our pond looks like it is woven but I just attributed that to adding friction. It did not help the deer or geese so I was wrong.

That is intriguing. Sounds like a great way to bond things if done correctly.
